Grateful to Amazon for submitting my work on Spy High for Outstanding Cinematography for a Documentary at the News & Documentary Emmys.
The film premiered at SXSW, won the TV Premiere Audience Award, and explores the WebcamGate scandal, where a Philadelphia school district secretly captured 56,000+ images of students through their laptop cameras. Couldn’t do it without collaborating w director @jodymcvs production @unrealisticideas and my great crew! @kirstencelo, Keegan Canty @landonhosto @k8street @yoshi49.60 @zoelubeckpoetry

Cinematographer Spotlight 🎥
Yamit Shimonovitz brings striking visual duality to Amazon’s true-crime docuseries “Spy High”, blending Zeiss Supreme Primes with Batis lenses to craft both high-gloss beauty and gritty surveillance realism.

📸 From polished B-roll to uncanny recreations, her lens choices tell a chilling story of surveillance overreach in a Philadelphia high school — and it’s already SXSW Award-winning. Now streaming on Amazon Prime.

Let Us Prey: A Ministry of Scandals premieres tonight on MAX and Discovery. Last year, I had the honor of documenting the stories of courageous women who united against their abusers. Meeting these incredible women was truly empowering. This significant project was led by the fearless and generous Sharon Liese with the talented Sam Hake Johnson by her side. A huge shoutout to our dedicated crew members: Amber Sammet Jackson Montemayor Cory Cullen and Janette Staub The Blind Eye Movement played a crucial role in uncovering the abuse. by @4yamit
