Using a working definition of love that tells us it is the action we take on behalf of our own or another’s spiritual growth provides us with a beginning blueprint for working on the issue of self-love. When we see love as a combination of trust, commitment, care, respect, knowledge, and respon-sibility, we can work on developing these qualities or, if they are already a part of who we are, we can learn to extend them to ourselves. — bell hooks, All About Love, p. 54 by @504tos

Walking is good for your heart. Night or Day, take you a stroll. 🫶🏽 by @504tos
To love is to dare. To love is to be vulnerable. To love is to not know — but to still wish for the absolute best. Quite literally, one could lose it all. But what you stand to gain is so sweet. So worthy… & Perhaps, not loving is the ultimate risk. Ooh… to never know what love is — or who you become when you get some (more). That’s no way to live. So what if you fall. So what if something breaks. Stand again. And AGAIN I pray we are always brave enough to rise in love. • Frankie Beverly Nim said: “Love can be bitter, love can be sweet. Sometimes devotion, sometimes defeat. The ones that you care for give you so much pain... Oh, but it’s alright. They’re both one in the saaaaame” by @504tos

Bow ya head and close ya eyes and repeat after me: Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Mathew 6:34 • My daddy used to tell me “Worry not for the morrow, for the morrow will take care of itself”, when I would become anxious about student loans and class requirements. I think many of his talks with me saved my life. Shoutout to both my mama and my daddy for being such soldiers. by @504tos

Next time you find someone to be sweet on, make sure you show them you love them and that you care. Belle Hooks says “ Love is an action, never simply a feeling” 9X 2023 by @504tos
