bbq and eat the rich. @manhattaninstitute , a far-right fascist, billionaire-funded think tank (similar to those who wrote Project 2025) held its annual gala in Manhattan this week. New Yorkers came to say hi. by @50501ny
Today, we joined over 5 million people across the country—the largest single day of action since Donald Trump’s second inauguration. From coast to coast, Americans are standing up to say enough. We are building a massive, visible, national rejection of this crisis—and this protest is proof that the people—the majority—are taking action to stop a hostile government takeover. Because let’s be clear:
We do not have a functioning democracy anymore.
Trump and his billionaire allies have dismantled our system of checks and balances, stacked the courts, silenced dissent, and declared themselves above the law. He’s disappearing people, bringing universities and the free press to their knees, and purging agencies meant to protect the people—from the environment to civil rights to public health. This is not politics as usual.
This is a hostile takeover by billionaires, corporations, and authoritarian enablers. And we the People are PISSED! by @50501ny
Run to the polls November 3rd. Find your poll site: vote.nyc (links in bio). And be ready to hit the streets after the election to protect our votes. by @50501ny
NEW YORK, LOCK IN. by @50501ny
Thank you, Brazil. We’re all in this fight ✊🇧🇷🇺🇸 by @50501ny
Beat the algorithm. by @50501ny
5 days out from the midterms, New Yorkers dropped banners across the city to show we won’t stand by while the Trump administration threatens our elections. From a Queens overpass to the Brooklyn Bridge to Trump Tower, the message was clear: we’re going to be ready. Make your plan to vote by Tuesday, join a training to learn how to protect the vote, and follow @handsoffnyc for updates you can trust through Election Day and beyond. by @50501ny
Wild action today as a group of New Yorkers dropped a banner in Trump Tower reading "STOP THE NEXT JAN 6!" They chanted "We the people defend the Constitution! We the people defend our vote!" The protestors left without incident after the banner drop and no one got arrested. But as they exited, the '80s music on the sound system got VERY LOUD, as if someone had been instructed to drown them out and got to it a bit late. by @50501ny
New York, get ready. We know they are desperate and will do anything to cling onto power. Vote. Get everyone you know to vote. Then be ready to hit the streets if they mess with our votes, here or anywhere in the country. Pledge to take action — link in bio. by @50501ny
Yes, that is the Statue of Liberty posterize dunking over tiny hands into a ballot box. New York isn’t going to let these desperate losers mess with our votes here or anywhere else in the country. Pledge to take action that protects the vote — link in bio. by @50501ny
ICE OUT OF NY. by @50501ny
Meta just took down @angieforfl's #LatinosConAngie Instagram page - in the middle of a get-out-the-vote rally. This comes on the heels of Meta taking down the @nokingscoalition account during last weekend's No Kings Early Vote day. To put it mildly, Meta strongly appears to be undermining democracy in the United States. If you're a politician, activist, or organization on the left, you HAVE to build your presence off of Meta and X - which basically means Bluesky and Mastodon. Bring your audience over as much as possible. It's critical. I've managed to get a lot of followers on Bluesky who care about political issues - if you're a mutual and represent an org on the left, PLEASE reach out and I will help you get started or build your audience there! We can't let technofascists destroy our reach, friends. by @50501ny
