~ Redding 2023 ~ This was a tournament I have wanted to shoot for a while. Finally made the decision to make it a priority and I am so glad I did. It would be easy to focus on negatives of this trip. The 20 hour drive was brutal. The weather was borderline awful. AirBnB kicked us out of our place because target archery is synonymous with “explosive devices” and “assault weapons” in their eyes. However, I was able to shoot a lot of arrows with great friends. Was taken in by the archery community when we needed help. Huge thanks to @nick_kappers and the boys from @specialtyarchery for being so gracious. Most of all I felt like I learned a lot this trip. I didn’t shoot how I know I can and finished below my 1500 threshold goal for my first time at Redding by a few points at 1497. However, I know I can far exceed this goal and compete with anyone at this tournament with the knowledge gained on how to better prepare. Can’t wait til next year and until then I have to say one more big thank you to my supporters including @nolimitsarchery @cutterstabilizersofficial @catamountoutdoorgear @blackeaglearrows and @elitearchery (@kidder_fit). I would not be where I am without support from these great companies and without the push from my wife @ashtyn_a_anderson_ to continue to chase my dreams each day. #nolimitsarchery #archery #cutterstabilizers #onlyrollwithkillers #NRD #blackeaglearrows #Redding #NFAA #targetarchery by @5280hunter

A very fun and successful weekend shooting 3D across Wyoming. I’ve been working hard and it feels awesome to have that work pay off with finishes on the podium at two tournaments in a weekend. I can’t say enough good things about the @elitearchery Verdict. I feel in sync with this bow faster than I have with any bow I have shot previous. Shout out to the many who have supported me and continue to reach out and push me forward, including my amazing wife @ashtyn_a_anderson_ who lets me gallivant around to other states slinging arrows. #archery #nolimitsarchery #alphabowhunting #elitearchery #verdict #hamskea #blackeaglearrows #cutterstabilizers #onlyrollwithkillers #itsokayimadoctor taken in Wyoming by @5280hunter

3 years married to the love of my life. I am so incredibly proud of you and am so thankful to have you as my partner in mischief, joy, and laughter. Your kindness and smile bring light to everyone who is lucky enough to know you and I am the lucky one who gets to spend the rest of forever by your side. Here’s to a lifetime full of more anniversaries! I love you. by @5280hunter

Some days the luck falls your way and sometimes it feels like you couldn’t fall out of a boat and hit water. Started the day super hot, +10 after 5 targets. However, the remainder of the day was nothing short of a grind. In 40 targets, I shot 18 12s which should be the beginning recipe of a solid day. However, an invisible tree branch snuck out to grab my arrow mid flight and deflected for a 5, followed a target later by shooting a cracked nock for another nickel. Those 2 arrows and a horrific display of 8s that missed by an arrow shaft or less, made the day a rollercoaster. Meanwhile, shooting in my group the eventual victor @kaylee_geist_97 used my slightly low 8s to bounce into her fair share of 12s and had the luck of the Irish or sold her soul in a deal with the devil to catch more bonus rings by fractions than I care to mention (check the second picture for an example of one from the several. But that’s the name of the game and it was fun although frustrating to compete for the first time in a month. Happy to have made the shoot off and put on a show shooting at every 14, and catching a few to make up a bit of ground and finish 3rd. #cutterstabilizers #onlyrollwithkillers #elitearchery #nolimitsarchery #DBAP #catamountoutdoorgear taken in Curt Gowdy State Park by @5280hunter
