Happy birthday to my gorgeous friend Sarah. 😃🎉 I am so blessed to have you in my life. 🪽 We became close so quickly because we get each other. 💪🏽 You have a tender heart and a great sense of humor. We laugh, we cry, and we know when to give space when one of us is feeling overwhelmed or not the best version of ourself. This is my beautiful sister, she turns 60 in July‼️😮💪🏽🥰 Today is my mom’s birthday and I felt like this was the perfect time to share our recent shoot. I know my mom is soooooo PROUD of us, the joy of witnessing the LOVE n LIGHT we bring to this earth. MY SOBRIETY ❤
FIRSTS
Tonight I am showcasing my acrylic prints for the first time in DTLA along side other talented photographers. I am so excited, and looking forward to connecting with EVERYONE !
For the first time, I am not planning where I’ll get buzzed before the event so that I am not “shy” when around other people.
For the first time I didn’t check in with the event to see if they will be serving drinks, so I can keep my buzz going to feel “comfortable” while people are viewing my ART.
For the first time I am not planning an after party to get drunk and “celebrate” how I might feel at the end.
I was constantly thinking ways I could mask my fear, my fear of LOVE and ACCOMPLISHMENTS.
Since the day I learned how to walk, the sexual abuse started. So in my precious little mind, accomplishments equaled pain. From that day on, I trained my mind to avoid feeling good when I did something great or to accept true love when given by ANYONE that crossed my path.
Here I am now, SOBER... with an open heart and mind. That little boy is stronger than ever and will ALWAYS spend each day in LOVE n GRATITUDE...because THAT IS WHO I AM. Tonight will be no different. I LOVE YOU, thanks for listening.
