Snuck in a little work field trip during a family visit to South Carolina. First stop: @hampdenclothing, a longtime go-to partner of mine. Finally got to experience first hand their high touch service and range of assortment—and even snagged a couple of pieces from the new Sacai x Levi’s collab fresh from the racks!

Then it was on to @shopworthwhile, which felt like walking into a fashion icon’s personal closet: niche brands I already covet, plus new independent labels I’ll be pulling into heavy rotation. Left Charleston with souvenirs I’ll cherish (hello, @elendadawson.uk pink!) and finds I can’t wait to share with my clients.

Shopping epiphany from my recent trip to Italy: that special piece you’ve been eyeing at home? Buy it there instead.

Between the 15% tariff folded into US price tags and the VAT refund you get as a visitor, the math suddenly favors you. These Prada boots? Over 20% less in Sicily than in the States when adding in the tax rebate.

To be clear — I’ll never stop shopping at home. The boutiques and relationships here are the heart of what I do. But if you’re already headed abroad, don’t let the weak dollar steer you away from your favorite stores. The numbers are friendlier than you think.
(And keep your passport on you when you shop — even a photo works. That’s the tax refund.)

Some weekends stay with you. Celebrating @burberry’s 170th anniversary and the launch of their global campaign The Trench, Portraits of an Icon alongside one of my dearest clients @aditii was one of those memory makers. Deeply grateful to the San Francisco team for including us in this special moment, the Chicago team for opening their hearts and the doors of their magnificent Michigan Avenue flagship, and the New York team for curating every exquisite detail with such personal care. Last night I dressed for a double dinner date at a buzzy new restaurant. Despite its loud buzz, inside @or.esh was pure elegance—lush decor, warm, gracious service and beautifully presented, flavorful food and drinks (yes to sidecars!) I approach travel the same way I do getting dressed - gravitating toward what feels comfortable and familiar. On a recent family trip to Cartagena, I spent my days doing what I love most: eating well, walking aimlessly, talking with strangers, soaking in local art and music, reading for hours in the sun beside the people I love (with a little shopping in between). Those familiar rituals ground me whether I’m home or away.

The same is true of dressing. We all own multiples of what works (think black sweaters, dark denim, white tees). That’s not something to apologize for; it’s a personal uniform. And when you make room for pieces that push past the familiar, you’re not abandoning your style, you’re expanding it.

So, in 2026, let comfort make room for curiosity—wherever you are, whatever you’re wearing.
