We are proud to announce the publication of our new book, “Fish Out of Water-2,Jewish Guys in a Deep South Firehouse.”
Along with my best friend that I met the night we were both being voted (or we hoped) for admission to the Guilford College Fire Department. We have stories that help you learn, make you cry and much more!

The book is available as an e-Book, paperback and hard cover. Check in on Amazon or your favorite book store.

As former firefighters, we care about the entire first responders cadre. And we will donate funds from the sales of this book to the NFFF. Stay Safe & Stay Well! by @5alarmtaskforce

Many of us who are still in the Service and many of us who have retired out, often think we know/knew all we needed to be good firefighters. Yet, there are innovations we have now, that we didn't even have just TEN years ago!
In this podcast, our guest, FF EJ Henninger joins us with the topic, "You Might Not Know..."
EJ is the Mission Leader for “Building Firefighter Development,” a grassroots effort to educate the fire service about building systems from an engineering perspective.

He has more than 25 years of professional experience in the engineering and design of fire protection, plumbing, and process systems for numerous types of occupancies.

For 15 years, EJ has served as a volunteer firefighter with a rural fire and rescue company, holding various positions. He is a proponent of the fight against firefighter cancer!

EJ is happily married to his beautiful wife for more than 25 years and has three wonderful sons.

So come around, sit around super-powerful 1000Watt light in the empty bay and see what this is all about!

MAKING A DIFFERENCE IS A CHOICE. Like #volunteer #firefighters in a community, @familytotherescue brings caring people to the aid of individuals having hardship. When the tone drops, #firstresponders know it may be someone's worst day. @rescuingfamilies , the families they assist are sometimes living their worst day, everyday. As we engage with an open hand of help, a positive example is being set in guiding the next generation. DO WHAT WE CAN, WHEN WE CAN, BECAUSE WE CAN.

No one can forget the terrible firestorms that a great deal of the State of California, just one year ago. There were several major fires, some in the Greater Los Angeles area and the fire that was to the north in the Bay area. Our guest on this episode of 5-Alarm Task Force is Assistant Chief, Chad Costa of the Petaluma Fire Dept.
Chief Costa tell his story of how he and other members of his department, as well as more firefighters, were dispatched to several different fires. Remember seeing the news reels or photos of fire apparatus driving constantly? Somewhere there was Chief Costa and his contingent.
With nearly 30 years in the fire service, Chief Costa remembers many events in his career however, this is one that he will definitely remember. by @5alarmtaskforce

Episode 10-1 – Capt. (ret) Mike Daley – “Education – KTF – FSPC Educators
If you have been a firefighter, you may have heard the name of our guest for this episode. Capt. Daley “wears” several endeavors, not only in his personal area in New Jersey, but around the country.
He has a 37-year in firefighting, reaching the Captain status. However, Capt. Daley is also the President of the organization, Kill the Flashover with classes to teach firefighters how to “Kill the Flashover.”
Additionally, Capt. Daley is the founder and President of the FSPC Educators, which is another educational effort with special classes that take place in the both, some in a classroom and hands-on outdoors with plenty of props!
He is also a Contributing Editor with FIREHOUSE® Magazine.
There are plenty more accolades for Capt. Daley, but it is time to stop reading and it’s time to listen or watch our interview with Capt. Mike Daley!

How you behave, think and perform on the fire ground is crucial for firefighter and fire ground success. The mindset of prepared readiness is also perishable and should be maintained throughout your shift and further throughout your career. How are you showing up?
