🎊It’s a bestie’s Born Day, @theduchess1 and the homie’s Collin…complete with the first full Super Moon of the year,the Wolf Moon. 🌑 Nice celestial gift.✨ @celavi.london Lovely dinner,fantastic views over looking the city and vibes. DJ played chilled house music. Definitely going back and might take more photos. There was a surreal social media presence that kinda put us off😅 Folks showed up with their own paparazzi and the bathroom felt like a Black Mirror experience. Felt like a content creators congregation 🥴I mean the place is fly but damn. Lol by @5starbarby

Born Michael Eugene Archer on February 11, 1974, in Richmond, Virginia, D’Angelo grew up in a house filled with gospel, rhythm, and soul. A preacher’s son with music in his bones, he was playing piano by three and winning Apollo’s Amateur Night before his teenage years were through. By the mid-’90s, he was redefining R&B — co-producing “U Will Know” for Black Men United, then dropping Brown Sugar, the platinum debut that sparked the neo-soul wave.

In 2000, he took things higher with Voodoo — a masterpiece that earned him Grammys and global praise, with “Untitled (How Does It Feel)” becoming both iconic and intimate. But the fame came heavy, leading him to step away from the spotlight for years before his powerful return with Black Messiah in 2014.

D’Angelo shared a son with soul singer Angie Stone — his muse through the Brown Sugar era — and was father to two more children. His sound, spirit, and influence continue to echo through every artist who carries the soul forward.
After being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, D’Angelo passed away Gone but never forgotten… he was 51. by @5starbarby
