2026 EDT is a collection of artworks made by a small group of sensitive observers who look beyond personal predicaments and respond earnestly. Inside a former newsstand – between the origin and the destination – we glimpse their experiences in today’s America. The exhibition offers visitors new ways to consider the nation’s history and art’s role as a medium for shaping how we think and how we feel.

5U Space is pleased to present its eleventh exhibition and first group show, 2026 EDT, featuring eight artists working in a wide range of media. Concurrent with the semiquincentennial of the Declaration of Independence, the exhibition is a unique opportunity for reorientation and discovery in Philadelphia. 5U Space is pleased to present the work of Nicholas Stathopoulos at the first edition of Philadelphia’s own, @elsewhere.fair. In this new body of work, muslin-veiled paintings and paper-mache sculptures add new dimension to the artist’s delightful exploration of inner turmoil and violent visions.

5U Space is pleased to present a solo booth of new works by Mika Obayashi for NADA New York 2026. Paper made as a fellow at Dieu Donné and sculptures crafted from found materials create an uncanny sense of space that interrogates the boundary between the temporal and the eternal, the physical and the intangible. Functioning like diagrams, these new works reveal rather than represent their meanings.
