Happy Friday!! Meet 2nd year printmedia MFA grad, Rui (she/her) ✨

Rui Zhang is a multi-disciplinary artist from Lishui, China, who received her BFA in Printmaking from the China Academy of Art. Her practice across printmaking, photography, and ceramics, attends to fleeting moments by rendering the ephemeral tangible.
Rui uses photography to observe the world and develop a visual language, which informs her sensitivity to surface, texture, and image. By focusing on the quiet details of everyday life, her work probes the blurry edges between the temporary and the permanent. Through her material practice, Rui seeks a sense of belonging that is never fixed, but instead repeatedly built through movement and perception. by @6_6zr_
