I have loved jazz improvisation since I was in 5th grade. I admired, copied, got attached to certain riffs. I drilled techniques, scales, took classes, lessons, was brought together with people. It was an adrenaline rush to improvise and feel my improvement. Flow arts is stimulating in the same way for me. I drill technical skills, memorize choreography, transitions, each are like vocabulary I can use for improvisational sentences. My hands memorize the movement. It’s an emotional experience, unifying, an adrenaline rush. It’s another world of self expression. It is deeply introspective. It communicates perspective and reflects individuality. Flow arts is curating, using a different art form that can contain so many elements to it. The filming of fire flow is another interest of mine. Styling, setting, costumes, behind the camera work— it’s a beautiful collaboration. Golden hour ☀️@6bonk is flowing with @bubble.poi with @faces.of.flow behind the camera as always 🫶These bubble poi are so magical and the camera skills really bring it to life. I felt like I was embodying my free spirit. I am so happy to have partnered with bubble poi to create these videos. Here is a note from Callahan, the videographer for this reel: I was going for an ethereal, dreamy look with peak golden hour back-lighting to bring out the colors of the bubbles. I used my Nikon Z8 with a 50mm f/1.8 on a DJI RS3 for stability in camera movement. I stacked two filters on my lens: a mist filter to bloom the highlights and soften the image, and a VND filter to allow me to shoot wide open in the bright lighting. This shoot was invigorating due to the short time window we had to make it happen. All of the shots we got happened within a 20 minute window. I’m happy with how the vision turned out, and hope you enjoy it too! by @6bonk

What do you need to know before buying @bubble.poi ?Here are my honest thoughts. 🫧These poi were a hit at this beach gathering by @medium805 At least a dozen people came up to me to ask where I got them or to say how cool they are! They really FILL the space with large bubbles!They don’t tangle or get too messy which makes them easy to share. My friends loved getting to try them and I will bring them out to future gatherings. There is a bit of skill and learning curve to getting the most bubbles out of them. Moving at a slower pace, having good non-frothy bubble solution, and making sure they are fully dipped are all ways I got a longer bubble flow. I also had a spray bottle of alcohol to limit froth in my bucket.The bubbles usually come out for 15 seconds per dip, but having the bucket right next to me for redipping makes it easy to flow for extended periods.The first time I made the bubble solution recipe provided to me by @bubble.poi it was flawless- no chunks. The second time, I have no idea why, but it got so chunky, and it took some extra time to make it smooth. Over time I think I will get it down, but it still only took 10-15 minutes 😊I went through almost 3 liters of solution at one event. I was surprised by that! It was so much fun dancing to the music and making bubbles. It is extremely gorgeous in the golden hour lighting.Overall:Bubble poi are a really good flow prop! They are well made and look like they will last forever. They are not just fun but mesmerizing and a memorable experience to share. I hope I see more people bringing these out to events and I hope for new color options which I think are coming soon 🤞Thank you @bubble.poi ! There will be more videos posted soon. by @6bonk

Fire Lyra at @firedrumsfestival@enigmatic.trickster and @upsidedown_abigail (Ellie and Abagail) held amazing Lyra workshops and later that same night we met at the fire circle and showed off some tricks on fire. 🔥 Firedrums taught me so much and got me excited about a whole new world of aerial flow possibilities. I’m looking to set up a Lyra in my back yard and share these skills with my local flow community. I could go on and on about how fulfilling it is to participate in this festival. It’s a place where people unlock ideas and create sequences that have never been done before. The most dedicated artists and performers come together and flow in the most beautiful venue I’ve ever seen in California. The reason why I make videos is because it feels like a creation of art, a honing in on skills, and a stepping stone that will lead me to creating even greater things.
