POSTS STORIES REELS

I have loved jazz improvisation since I was in 5th grade. I admired, copied, got attached to certain riffs. I drilled techniques, scales, took classes, lessons, was brought together with people. It was an adrenaline rush to improvise and feel my improvement. Flow arts is stimulating in the same way for me.

I drill technical skills, memorize choreography, transitions, each are like vocabulary I can use for improvisational sentences. My hands memorize the movement. It’s an emotional experience, unifying, an adrenaline rush. It’s another world of self expression. It is deeply introspective. It communicates perspective and reflects individuality.

Flow arts is curating, using a different art form that can contain so many elements to it.

The filming of fire flow is another interest of mine. Styling, setting, costumes, behind the camera work— it’s a beautiful collaboration. Thank you @fantasieflows for learning fire breathing with me and @callahanjmorgan both of you for making this shoot happen.

ALSO THANK YOU @organic_pyrotechnic for teaching this skill!

Obligatory burning man post by @6bonk

The reason why I make videos is because it feels like a creation of art, a honing in on skills, and a stepping stone that will lead me to creating even greater things. Plus I love to share fun moments like these with my friends :)

Fire Lyra at @firedrumsfestival

@enigmatic.trickster and @upsidedown_abigail (Ellie and Abagail) held amazing Lyra workshops and later that same night we met at the fire circle and showed off some tricks on fire. 🔥

Firedrums taught me so much and got me excited about a whole new world of aerial flow possibilities. I’m looking to set up a Lyra in my back yard and share these skills with my local flow community. I could go on and on about how fulfilling it is to participate in this festival. It’s a place where people unlock ideas and create sequences that have never been done before. The most dedicated artists and performers come together and flow in the most beautiful venue I’ve ever seen in California. I love you Firedrums 💕

Golden hour ☀️

@6bonk is flowing with @bubble.poi with @faces.of.flow behind the camera as always 🫶

These bubble poi are so magical and the camera skills really bring it to life. I felt like I was embodying my free spirit. I am so happy to have partnered with bubble poi to create these videos.

Here is a note from Callahan, the videographer for this reel: I was going for an ethereal, dreamy look with peak golden hour back-lighting to bring out the colors of the bubbles. I used my Nikon Z8 with a 50mm f/1.8 on a DJI RS3 for stability in camera movement. I stacked two filters on my lens: a mist filter to bloom the highlights and soften the image, and a VND filter to allow me to shoot wide open in the bright lighting. This shoot was invigorating due to the short time window we had to make it happen. All of the shots we got happened within a 20 minute window. I’m happy with how the vision turned out, and hope you enjoy it too! by @6bonk

Flow state achieved, from the flames, the camera, to the backdrop and lighting, we understood the assignment 🫡

Samantha here! Not only that, collaborating felt (and always feels) so natural with Callahan— we kept going, for 7 HOURS. I was so motivated and passionate about the process that I only realized my whole body was hurting until we finally called “that’s a wrap!” 😎

Being in this abandoned waterpark felt like we were in a post apocalyptic movie. The sights and the atmosphere were so cool, 10/10 will go back.

Callahan here! This video was one of my favorites to create yet. Samantha and I have developed a deep connection that leads to a creative chemistry that feels like dancing together. As a videographer, I find myself entering a different type of flow state in capturing performers. There is an element of reactivity and as well as prediction that is required to be fully attuned to the flow of your partner. Having worked many times with Samantha, I have developed a vocabulary of moves that she employs. This video was shot on a fisheye lens that required me to be within inches of her for the majority of the recording. So being in sync with her was required to get the shots shown in this edit. by @6bonk

KEEP FLOWING 🌎🌀🔥🌊

Earth wind fire water.
There is wisdom surrounding us, creative spark, an inexhaustible offering that is always available.

Create space in your life to invite the energy in. Meditate. Sit in silence. Contemplate. Pray. Do any ritual that helps fend off distraction and an over-abundance of thoughts.

Vary your inputs. Change your surroundings. Break habits. Look for differences. Notice connections. The beauty around us and enriches our lives in so many ways. It is an end in itself.

The purpose of all this.. the purpose of creating is to awaken something in you first, and then allow something to be awakened in others. The priority is your inspiration, your flow, and the audience is after.

If you are fortunate enough to experience the strike of inspiration, take full advantage of the access. When it’s flowing, keep going. 🔥

Let the full moon energy channel through you baby 🌝

When midnight was about to strike, we embraced the new year energy by setting the rain on fire. 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣🐦‍🔥

My creative inspiration was overflowing and I just had to get us outside (we did not plan this at all). What an exciting and inspiring feeling it was; the cold rain and the spicy fire. The rain hitting the fire created blue steam lit by our backlight. My senses were ignited. I’m really happy with how these came out, too. I have never seen anyone capture photos quite like these, nor have I ever seen fire photography in the rain at all. It feels great to step outside of my comfort zone.

I have also never edited our photos with illustrator until now. There was no intent to make a triangle but afterwards I couldn’t resist making it into the famous album cover.
