In honour of #ThrowbackThursday, I am reminded that exactly one year ago today, on June 18, I crossed the stage and graduated from nursing school with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) with distinction from Toronto Metropolitan University.

The following month, on July 22, I wrote the NCLEX and successfully passed on my first attempt. By September 15, I had received an offer for a full-time permanent Registered Nurse (RN) position at one of my dream hospitals.

I am extremely grateful for the sacrifices my parents made when they immigrated to Canada from Jamaica, which helped make this possible.

Despite many challenges along the way, I overcame them and continued to excel academically, professionally, and personally.

There is no greater feeling than when a dream becomes a lived reality. by @6starnurse

🎓 My University Graduation 🎓

After years of commitment, determination, and consistency, I officially graduated with my Bachelor of Science in Nursing — with Distinction.

From starting as a Personal Support Worker, to Registered Practical Nurse, and now a Registered Nurse… this achievement means everything to me.

To say I’m proud of myself would be an understatement.
