Dedicated to my Dad as today is his birthday and the first that he is not here with us to celebrate. I would always send many of my photos to my Dad as I would my Mom too. Whether it be my wildlife photography, historical photography or my toy photography I always would send to them first. This is really the photo after losing my Dad that I decided to not give it all up as this isn’t something he would ever want me to do. This photo captures a lot about me and my Dad and a lot of tears went into making this photo happen. I’m proud to share my photos now and I’m proud of you Dad for giving me the strength to do this. Happy Birthday Dad, we all love and miss you so much and I will see you again, in the tunnel and we can keep our work going on the subway lines...say 8’clock.

I can’t believe this will be my 300th post. Toy photography has saved me in so many different ways. It has brought me a lot of happiness and it provides me with a sense of calming and peace. I realize my photography and creations are no where near the level of the many amazing artists on IG, but I do have a few shots that I’m really proud of. This is one of them, my first time working with fireworks (still learning). I thought I would include the behind-the-scenes with this one, mostly because I never include my set-up shots. The first photo is the actual blast shot while the second photo is before the blast (you can see the lit fireworks) and the third photo is right after it went off with the dust (snow lol) still settling. I’m hoping by posting these I will have inspired myself to get out in the next couple of days to try my hand at some more winter Star Wars scenes…rather cold here right now lol.

I love this community and I am grateful for all the amazing friends I’ve made and for everyone’s continued positive support. May The Force remain with all of us🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️

“We Will Never Forget.”

Sometimes words are not needed to caption/describe a photo. I think one word says it best “heroes.”

“Talking To The Shadows.”

For many, they refuse to see.
For some, they have found the key.
For others, they turn to Halloween to be.
For the rest, they are never to be free.

The great month of beautiful darkness is now upon us. Yes, October has finally arrived and so too have the “Shadows”. Many of them are awakening for the first time today, harmless but mischievous. However, there are some who have had no need to sleep, they never sleep, awakened many years ago. These are the ones that refuse to leave us and these are the Shadows that are feared the most - these are the “Shadow Monsters.”

“September Sunrise.”

Crisp morning air, dawn’s early mist, leaves teasing colours painted onto the lake’s glassy surface, the sun’s warmth awakening the body, charging the mind…in the woods, secluded, alone, surrounded by nature - a September sunrise is a beautiful experience.

“Meeting A Legend.”

Leonardo and Raphael stood on the rocks at the edge of Beaver Lake. The morning mist was still making its slow ascent to the blue sky above. They came to see the tribute rocks that Donatello and Michelangelo had neatly placed in the water a day earlier. Tribute rocks to the legendary “Mert” & “Bert.” A male and female turtle couple who nurture and protect all the young turtles of the lake and its surrounding area. Hoping to meet the guardian couple and to tell them how grateful they are for all that the pair do, Leonardo and Raphael stood silent, hoping the pair would appear. Then, it happened. A large head broke the surface of the water and slowly approached. It was “Mert,” and after exchanging morning pleasantries with the two turtle warriors, she excitedly turned to get a closer look at the tribute rocks and to show her appreciation. “They beautifully represent family, our turtle family,” she explained returning to the pair and beginning to make her climb ashore. There, with half of her large body still submerged in the water, the three turtles shared in their unique connection. Before returning back to the water, Leonardo and Raphael made sure to thank Mert for all that she and Bert do for their turtle family. With a humble nod, Mert slipped back into the water and silently disappeared below the surface. It was a chance meeting and one that will soon not be forgotten 🐢💚

“Wave Babies.”

Enjoying the last sunny & warm weekend of September.

Summer - you only just arrived,
Making me feel so alive.
Now it’s going to get cold & dark,
A snowy journey I will soon embark.
My winter toys, they’re how I will survive.

“No Sleep For This Lion.”

I’m not even sure if she is a lion, maybe a lioness or even a tigress but, one thing is for sure, she nor anyone else will be sleeping while she’s on the prowl - I think she’s just looking to make some new friends…”Hakuna Matata.”

“Be Yourself.”

Just because others see you differently and refuse to accept who you are doesn’t mean that you have to conform to living your life by their ways. What it really means is that you are special and you have the wings to sore miles above them to live your life as you were always meant to live it - being you!

“Doing What’s Right.”

While out on one of his rockhounding expeditions, Indy came across this massive vein of quartz crystal. With hammer in hand he was ready to start filling all that he could fill with his newly found riches - but - his better judgment took over and he slowly lowered his hammer. Indy is an ethical man and because his findings sit on Provincial Park property, he knew it was illegal to disturb or remove any natural object that resides within the park boundary. Disappointed as he was, he was still thrilled to have scene such an amazing site.
