highlights of 2025 and my reflections:

for the last 2 years i’ve had to grapple with losing a larger part of my mobility months at a time. it’s derailed my creativity, my mental stability, at times my career, and lowkey i lost my mind lol here are my reflections on those periods of isolation and immobility at the end of 2025:

1. life keeps moving even when you can’t. being bed- or chair-bound feels like the end, but it’s not. fomo had me spiraling fr, but losing time just made me think more about the future.
2. mind over matter” is not real. it’s more like “mind over mind.” your brain will gaslight you into thinking you can’t do anything. your internal monologue does dictate how you’re outlook on life will be. with adjustments, several things fall into place. you can feel better.
3. slowing down ≠ failure. i spent so much time mad at myself for “not doing enough.” turns out slowing down is still moving.
4. friendship heals. my people carried me when i couldn’t carry myself. emotionally and literally.
5. ask for help— always. even if you’re able-bodied. the way folks show up for you will shock you. it reset my faith in humanity.

Nothing has radicalized me more than the experience of being at war with my bitch ass spine and the american health care system. I am finally feeling like myself again after probably over 2 years and getting a diagnosis.
