Ooops! Soooo…. decided to fix a lot of things! Hopefully this goes quicker than just fixing the water neck has taken🫣

Retainer that wasn’t retaining vs. new hotness! Laser cut new retainer out of Cold Rolled 1/4” Steel with a 1/8” Cold Rolled Steel washer. Now time to send everything out to powder coat!

Haven’t driven the car lately due to this little guy & have been too busy to fix it. This one might take a while….

Score of the weekend!!! Picked up this set of SHP wheels (Special Handling Package) they are factory 16”x8” fronts & 16”x9”rears for those that don’t know. They’re in really good condition, the splotchiness is from PurplePowering them just before the picture and will buff right out!!!! One of the rears has a little corrosion under the clear, I’ll just make sure that one goes on the passenger side😉, can’t wait to get them polished up!!!

75 mile tank inspection checks out. Everything looks so far! Next is to fill it to max full to make sure there isn’t any issues there🫣

After a few late nights, finally got the car back on the road last night. Just in time for @radwoodofficial today! Great turnout even with questionable weather, even a couple other Starquests!

My car is an ‘86, which didn’t have rear shoulder belts. I happened to find these ones on ebay and was just going to trim the OE rear panels for them to come thru, instead of trying to track down ‘88/‘89 rear panels. To my pleasant surprise Mitsubishi did all the hard work for me and made quick work of modifying them!!

Got the fuel filler buttoned up. This was the easiest/simplest way to deal with the filler of the mustang tank and having the least amount of tubing inside the car. Used a early Camaro license plate holder for the flip down action. Created everything in CAD, printed out a template to locate on the car. Also had a cut & drill template laser cut which locates off the two cleco holes from the printed template. After I get time down the road, I’m going to build a bolt-in floor to cover/close off the fuel tank & filler area. This will act as a firewall and keep anything fuel related completely segregated from the passenger compartment. The little vent on the upper left of the pocket is to vent the tank area after the close-out panels. For now I’m going to use it for the tank vent until I get a chance to build my charcoal canister.

Got the trunk painted, seam sealed and struts installed. Definitely moved the struts in as far as they can go. 😬 Got about .5” of clearance between the spring and the body. Excited to see how well this works out, waiting on a few other things to get a tire in there to see what will fit.
