Today was a day. Tuesday was just irritating. Not really sure why. So what did I do?! I turned on my audible app and listened to some…mmm….Game of Thrones type novel. And just started messing around in Canva of all places haha. Needed distraction and this seemed to do the trick. Is it perfect, no…but that’s okay. My fav things are seeing how something warped and meaningless, develop into a masterpiece. Slight changes here and there to SELA COVE. Excited to share when the time is right. I remember the night I stared at my website and felt nothing. Not pride. Not excitement. Not even frustration anymore — just that hollow feeling of looking at something I had built and realizing it did not belong to me. The fonts were not mine. The colors were not mine. The words sounded like a stranger borrowing my mouth. I had done everything the internet told me to do. Picked the palette. Bought the logo. Pieced together a website from the parts of other people’s brands I admired most. And somehow, at the end of it, I had built a beautiful little house I could not live in. Since I talk about moody vintage a decent amount of times, I figured I would show you what I mean. Every time I go to prep it starts out fairly light and warm but by the end of it it’s a lot darker than the original plan. But, for this style, I chose to have the background a lighter color so while the opacity was turned down, I could the life…very earthy and down to earth yet has this sense of…hmmmm…timelessness?
