Celebrated for his rare sensitivity, technical precision, and insatiable musical curiosity, Canadian pianist and 11-time Grammy Award nominee Marc-André Hamelin announces the release of the new album—and his remarkable 93rd recording—Brasiliana on January 15, 2027 on Hyperion Records. The first pre-release track, Alma brasileira, is now streaming. Spotlighting the piano works of prolific 20th-century Brazilian composer Radamés Gnattali (1906-1988), an indispensable figure for the understanding of modern Latin American music, Hamelin once again proves why he is regarded as one of the greatest pianists of our time and owner of one of the broadest and most respected discographies of classical music. On this album, Hamelin offers the greater part of Gnattali’s work for solo piano, some 120 years after the composer’s birth. “Those unfamiliar with either this formidable Brazilian composer or his modern-day Canadian interpreter will be struck first by the vigor, freshness, and simplicity of the compositions themselves, and then by the transparency, delicacy, and acuity of the interpretations,” says liner notes author and Rio de Janeiro University professor Roberto Gnattali, nephew of the composer. “Marc-André makes a personal but respectful reading of the author’s writings, at the same time faithful to the spirit of Brazilianness present in each work, the forms and styles of Brazilian regional music: the choro, the samba, the valsa seresteira (serenade waltz), the baião.” by @8va_music

@wexfordfestivalopera 🇮🇪 ❤️🎶 a world-class opera festival nestled on the sunny side of Ireland. The entire community comes together during October every year to present inspired opera repertoire, and everyone makes the performances festive in black tie. Wonderful to see our dear @suzannenancefm in her new element and enjoy brilliant singing (including performances of Prokofiev’s The Gambler and Mascagni’s Iris, both of which I have loved and always wanted to see), friendship, and warm Irish hospitality. Thank you to everyone who made this such a special and memorable experience. Until next time, Wexford! ☘️ by @8va_music
We’ve been fans of @jasonvieauxguitar for many years through his collaborations with 8VA clients such as Curtis Institute and Anne Akiko Meyers, so it gives us particular pleasure to welcome the GRAMMY-winning guitarist to the 8VA family of artists! Jason Vieaux is internationally recognized for his infallible technique and expressive artistry. His performances are celebrated as “virtuosic, flamboyant, dashing, and sometimes ineffably lyrical” (New York Times), cementing his place “among the elite of today’s classical guitarists” (Gramophone). Vieaux’s latest album Gratitude, released in September 2026 (Azica Records), features a collection of Vieaux’s original compositions for solo guitar. Vieaux is on the faculty of Curtis Institute of Music, where he co-founded the guitar department in 2011, and Cleveland Institute of Music, where he has taught for over 25 years. #classicalguitar #jasonvieaux #guitar by @8va_music

8VA is extraordinarily proud to announce a new addition to the family… @youngconcertartists! Young Concert Artists (YCA) is one of the world’s preeminent career-launching organizations for exceptional emerging musicians. Since 1961 YCA has been at the forefront of discovering and launching the careers of the future leading figures of classical music worldwide — among them several 8VA artists @anneakikomeyers, @annemarie.mcdermott.58, and @maestroschwarz! Named for YCA’s founder, the annual Susan Wadsworth International Auditions draw hundreds of the most exceptional young musicians from around the world to compete for the life-changing opportunity to join the YCA roster. Each year, through three rounds of rigorous auditions, three to four winners are chosen by a jury of distinguished musicians and industry leaders based on YCA’s standard of excellence. YCA invests in its artists by providing them with the performance opportunities, tools and infrastructure to take their careers to the highest level. Through a transformative and holistic three-year program, YCA propels musicians to new levels of artistic growth, offering a wealth of resources including comprehensive artist management, concert engagements at top venues around the globe, and YCA-presented debut recitals in New York City and Washington, DC. YCA connects its artists to a far-reaching network, opening doors and fostering key relationships that fundamentally change the trajectory of their careers. by @8va_music
Introducing 8VA’s Chief Morale Officer… Bear! 🐻 Bear keeps the team energized through enthusiastic greetings, strategic toy deployment, and a firm commitment to mandatory play breaks. Although his tendency to interrupt meetings, investigate unattended snacks, and occasionally fall asleep on the job might raise eyebrows in a more traditional workplace, at 8VA we consider his management style refreshingly hands-on. A true American original, Bear brings together the talents of Chihuahua, Terrier, Pomeranian, and Poodle into one unusually charismatic package. He approaches life with boundless curiosity, considerable confidence, and the firm belief that every person he meets is there specifically to see him. Following in the pawsteps of his legendary predecessor Holly, Bear is already mastering the art of the bi-coastal working dog, equally at home exploring the mountains out West and navigating the sidewalks of the Upper West Side. by @8va_music
