ALL THE PAIN.

I was never meant to stay there.

Only grow from it.

As a kid and teenager, my walls were covered with pictures of cars. Cars and baseball were pretty much my world.

Then at 16, I got my first car.

A 1983 Toyota Tercel.

Black, with yellow door jambs because I couldn’t afford to have the whole thing painted.

I loved the freedom of being able to drive on my own.

But I hated that car.

Most of the time, I was embarrassed by it.

I couldn’t afford anything better.

Heck, I could barely afford gas.

But looking back, that car gave me something far more valuable than something nice ever could have.

It made me DREAM.

The pain of not having much made me envision a different future.

It made me hungry.

It made me work.

It taught me to take care of what I had because growing up, I didn’t have much.

And it gave me a vision much bigger than my circumstances.

So when you see the cars I have today, understand this…

They don’t control me.

They don’t define me.

They’re simply reminders.

Reminders of where I started.

Reminders of the kid staring at cars on his bedroom walls.

Reminders of every time I was doubted, every setback, every sacrifice and every time quitting would’ve been easier.

What I have today isn’t about showing people what I own.

It’s about reminding myself what perseverance, relentless effort and a massive vision can build.

Sometimes the things you didn’t have become the very reason you refuse to settle.

The pain became the fuel.

And that kid with the 1983 Tercel?

He never stopped dreaming.

Anda through it all, I believed in God, knowing He had a better life planned for me.
