The year starts with big news! Happy to announce that I joined the extremely talented team surrounding @omid_mouazzen and @felixspiegel, who managed to create one of the most successful automotive YouTube Channels in recent memory, here in Germany. Just retuning from our Alps Tour and ending our driving Season, I‘m still astounded by our stay last month in Karlsbad. Driving CZ felt like discovering a hidden gem compared to the Alps and especially the @grandhotelpupp was one of the best hotel experiences I‘ve had so far. Staying there feels incredibly special. A quick reminder for your Porsche calendar this August. Meet Ezio Zago from Porsche Club Glarnerland, Switzerland. To personally invite the Porsche community to one of Switzerland’s largest Porsche gatherings, he drove all the way to the Odenwald for a day of filming. The setting couldn’t have been more fitting. A Ruby Star paint-to-sample 992 GT3 Touring alongside a bespoke Porsche Sonderwunsch 718 Spyder, finished in Gulf Blue with distinctive orange accents. Both cars were originally delivered by Porsche Centrum Gelderland in the Netherlands and went directly from the showroom to Switzerland. A shared connection that made this collaboration feel even more personal. On 23 August, the journey continues in Haag, Switzerland, where more than 600 Porsches are expected to gather. Fitting to yesterday‘s posting: Some Porsche stories are written on the road. Others become part of the brand’s history. Few private Porsches ever turn a wheel on Porsche’s test and development track in Leipzig. Yet in 2023 we had this amazing opportunity with two special 911 GT3 RS. Best known as the home of the Porsche Experience Center, the circuit recreates legendary corners including the Nürburgring’s Karussell and Laguna Seca’s Corkscrew in a single lap. Finished in White and Aqua Blue Metallic, these matching 997.2 GT3 RS, became known far beyond Europe after crossing the United States together during the pandemic. What began as a short journey turned into an adventure spanning thousands of miles, some of America’s most iconic roads, and countless unforgettable encounters along the way. From the Tail of the Dragon and Monument Valley to Pikes Peak and Laguna Seca, the twins followed a route most enthusiasts only dream about. Along the way they became more than rare GT3 RS models, they became companions to a story that refused to end when the world came to a standstill. For owners like Ortrun and Christian Hartinger, rare Porsches have never been investments. They are cars built to collect experiences, not dust. Porsche Leipzig later honoured both GT3 RS with a limited 1:43 model set. Out on track with the rarest Porsche at yesterday’s Frühschicht. Meet the one-off 911 Turbo Targa, recommissioned by Porsche Classic for Ortrun and Christian Hartinger. Originally delivered as a 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Targa for the US market, one of only 297 units ever built, The car was extensively rebuilt by the specialists at Porsche Classic in Asperg, just outside Zuffenhausen. Finished in Amazona Green Metallic with a two-tone Black and Giallo leather interior, its specification is unlike almost any other Porsche 911. Ortrun and Christian are known for creating truly individual Porsches, but even more for using them exactly as intended. Their cars have taken them on countless adventures across Europe and especially the United States. From shipping their Porsches across the Atlantic to exploring thousands of miles on some of the world’s greatest roads, they prove that even the rarest Porsche is meant to be driven.
