construction paper + ink captures of pimu aka catalina island. camped on the two harbors side w chris and ate freeze dried curry while observing mysterious aerial phenomena on the beach at night.

soapstone figurines—catalina casino—inaccurate mapa —natalie wood, who drowned there in 1981—movie colony bison—garibaldi—conservationist w island fox…that one ended up being my favorite despite coming together the fastest, so reproduced big style slide 2. by @94diskont

Beyond Baroque presents Consola del Túnel, an immersive activation of the Wanda Coleman Theater featuring spoken word, organic improv music, and installation art.

The poets and musicians will present a mix of written works and improvisations from the label a.r.d.o. (@ardo.soto, algún resentimiento desconocido al odio), @nueoi press’s Lupita Limón Corrales (@bien_volada), @el_ivanooo Salinas’ bilingual chapbook Dealer: poesía carcacha, and selected poems by Tori Gesualdo (@styrofoamboots26). Jasminne Morataya (@94diskont) will be accompanied by musicians Chris McKelway and Joe Davancens.

i’m periodically called back to my copy of hollywood babylon — a used book that smells like a swimming pool when opened — i think of peg entwistle and the fictionalized walking tour scene in ‘day of the locust’ — kenneth anger contends that she jumped from the D at the end of ‘hollywoodland’ but every other source i’ve found said it was, in fact, the H. glue on my fingertips.
