𝙰 𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝙽𝚘𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎-𝙴𝚕𝚜𝚎𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 já está no ar — um website que desenhei juntamente com @diogomiraa, @https.luciacosta e @kika.rec, que reúne todos os projetos finais de Design de Comunicação 2025/26 na @fbaul.

Partindo do mote “𝙰 𝙳𝚎𝚜𝚒𝚐𝚗𝚎𝚛 𝚊𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚗𝚍 𝚘𝚏…” refletimos coletivamente sobre o que significa projetar num mundo marcado por crises sistémicas, onde o futuro parece cancelado antes de poder ser imaginado e a ausência de alternativas deixa de ser uma posição política para se tornar a própria textura da vida quotidiana. É nesse contexto que o projeto interroga a tensão entre o que um designer acredita que pode fazer e o que a realidade lhe impõe; entre a urgência do presente e o tempo do trabalho diário; entre a narrativa da academia que projeta a figura do designer como agente capaz de resolver as crises do mundo, e a moralidade performatizada que essa narrativa acaba por produzir.

À beira do precipício, sem saber o que nos resta após o fim do curso, questionamos se ainda faz sentido seguirmos as nossas ambições.

Em resposta, emerge 𝙽𝚘𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎-𝙴𝚕𝚜𝚎𝚠𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 enquanto lugar não resolvido, guiado pela incerteza como condição produtiva. Este território psicogeográfico “imaterializou-se” num website que rejeita qualquer sentido de navegação convencional — um antimapa que dispõe os projetos à deriva e ao acaso.

Tudo o que resta é habitar este não-lugar como uma condição possível, e talvez até desejável.

From my recent publication ‘AFTERPOP’

What if the sense of future shock in pop music has disappeared? Emerging from this question, the publication reads contemporary pop through repetition rather than rupture, touching on the Brat era phenomenon as a symptom of a present looping on itself, where novelty stalls and the future feels oddly familiar.

AFTERPOP IS OUT!

Emerging from the intuition ‘2026 is the new 2016’, this publication reflects on a present caught in cultural loops. From the Brat era and pop’s hyper-visibility to the constant recycling of recent pasts, it treats contemporary pop culture as a diagnostic space rather than a trend. Positioned between theory and visual practice, the project slows down the feed to think inside a haunted present, attentive to moments where repetition falters and something else briefly emerges.

I’m really excited to show this video that l’ve made as a flicker-driven exploration of the nostalgia that haunts our current cultural moment. Through frenetic, flashing imagery, I reflect on the cycle of repetition we perpetuate, a constant loop of the same, that prevent us from moving toward a genuine future.

Set to the sounds of @agcook404 ‘2021’, the edit serves as a visual manifestation of history on loop, where the familiar is endlessly recycled until the future itself becomes unimaginable.

Last year, I began working on this publication and a series of visual experiments that form part of my research project, guided by the question: “What if the sense of Future Shock in pop music has disappeared?”

Through hauntological references, digital manipulation, and graphic exploration, I started to reflect on the growing familiarity in contemporary pop music and question how we imagine (or no longer imagine) the future within visual and sonic culture.
