Super excited about this tree! Just under a year from being planted, we have Capuacu flowering! Cupuaçu (Theobroma grandiflorum) is a melon-sized Amazonian fruit related to cacao that is native to Brazil. Known for its creamy, white, aromatic pulp with a tart, sweet, chocolate-pineapple flavor, it is used in sweets, juices, and ice cream. Rich in antioxidants, vitamins (A, C), and minerals.
The pulp is creamy and tastes like a mix of chocolate, banana, pear, passion fruit, and pineapple. Widely used in Brazil for juices, smoothies, ice cream, mousses, and confectionery. Had the amazing opportunity to tour a personal garden/food forest while visiting Orlando this week! Such an amazing place and inspiring to say the least! Still pushing out a lot of food in the garden. Lemons, sweet potatoes, basil, cilantro, mint, tomatoes, Katuk, sissoo and malabar spinach, chives, onions and the blackberry and mulberry cuttings are taking off. We will have to move the tropicals in the house when the temperatures drop but they are still producing! by @9_degrees_north
