With just 2 DAYS LEFT until the magic begins, our Dorothy’s wondering where her package is and the Munchkins are at work! 👑✨🐍

It’s time to click those heels, pack those bags, and follow the orange brick road back to the HILL! 🧡💚

Ater placing runner-up in the Coca-Cola Sports Emmy Production Grant, I wanted to bring it back to where it all started. My high school media department.

Going from being a student in these seats to coming back and giving back was a full-circle moment!

Got to come back, donate equipment, and give the next group of students some of the same opportunities that helped me get started.

Congratulations to FAMU student filmmakers Darnell Walker-Jones, Charmiana Delphonse and Rowan Mumford on earning second place in the Coca-Cola HBCU Sports Production Grant competition for their documentary, “Tough Leather.”

The award was announced during the 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards, where the students and FAMU TV-20 staff adviser Edward Thomas were on site representing Florida A&M University and the School of Journalism & Graphic Communication.

“Tough Leather” highlights the life and legacy of legendary former FAMU softball head coach Veronica Wiggins, whose impact on FAMU athletics and the community spans decades.

This achievement marks Florida A&M University’s third Coca-Cola HBCU Sports Broadcasting Grant win in four years, continuing SJGC’s tradition of award-winning student storytelling and sports production excellence.

📰 From the Highest of Seven of Hills to the Nation’s Capitol!

👏🏽Congratulations to our SJGC student, Rowan Mumford, who is serving as a production intern at Roland Martin Unfiltered, contributing to a dynamic daily news show that covers politics, culture, education, and more. He’s writing scripts, creating graphics, supporting research, assisting with video production, and helping manage live show elements—all while amplifying underrepresented voices in media. 🍊💚🐍

Keep shining, Rowan! Your FAMUly is so proud of you.
