Artist Mycelial • bts On January 31st 2026, a team of 14 artists came together to bring a vision to life. Like mycelium networks, creative communities are vast webs of connection that share resources, information, and support with no profit initiative. While being paid for our work would obviously be ideal, as we’re forced to exist within a system that requires money to survive, creatives are no stranger to the “starving artist” lifestyle. Historically, artistic community functioned as hubs for collaboration, social change, and collective art production. It fostered artistic experimentation and shared, often anti-establishment, values. Today is no different. This project was the first of many for arrri, and I hope to work with many more of you Chicago creatives soon. As artists, we have the power to support each other and promote change through our work. There has been a big shift in energy for 2026. Expression > oppression, community > isolation, love > hate, thriving artist > starving artist. The In-Between FULL RUNWAY SHOW Inspired by the emotional and psychological chaos ensued by the demands of modern day society, this collection reflects the pressure to never stop working, and to remain available, pleasant, and compliant in all situations. For creatives & entrepreneurs alike, this pressure intensifies when the demand to perform also comes from within. The clock never stops ticking, life is being measured in tasks completed and hours clocked. Your parents are getting older, burnout is rewarded, the world is at war, AI is being positioned to replace you, and your dreams are getting harder to remember. Despite the intense pressure of it all, comes the intoxicating thrill of being able to defy the odds. The In-Between is dedicated to all of the unconventional dreamers who persist within a society that does its very best to destroy them.
