All Hail.Four years. One Degree. A million tears, a million triumphs.Xavier has taught me how to be a woman of grace, passion, discipline & dedication. Most importantly, a woman of community.I’ve been molded & shaped by every second of my experience on this campus & I have truly been made better for it. Thank you God, who made a series of miracles & blessings take place to allow me to walk in greatness & across the stage.Thank you to my parents who watched their daughter move a thousand miles away to not only learn the ways of the world but learn to be better & supported me every step of the way. Thank you to my illustrious for gifting me with a community that dares to be their ancestors wildest dreams, pushes to pursue their own & will stop at nothing to make it their reality.Because today we run the yard, tomorrow we run the world. & Thank you Xavier for giving me the confidence to know that I can & will one day change this world to promote a more just & humane society. To my home away from home, The African Student Union has been the foundation of my understanding of leadership, creativity, community & Family. To my Eboard, thank you all for trusting me & supporting all of my crazy ideas. You all made my experience feel like more than an org, but a family. I truly believe we have the best Eboard on campus & we have done the work to prove it. To Amna, my VP, but most importantly my sister. Thank you. You were the best vp I could have ever asked for. You sat with me through long nights, tough decisions and insane pivots. You held me up when I struggled and took more than one for the team. I am not only proud but overjoyed to hand this mantle to you & see the amazing things you do with OUR family next year. To Pauline, my forever president. More than a mentor, more than a big sister. Thank you for putting me on this Eboard three years ago. Thank you for making me VP instead of the event chair position I applied for. Thank you for seeing so much more in me than I did. Thank you to Patricia. The beautiful soul who introduced me to this organization at the end of my freshman year. A week after that introduction, I applied for the Eboard. May she rest in peace. Lastly, thank you to my grandparents who left all they knew behind to secure the future of a baby girl they hadn’t even met yet. So few words can express how I feel. I love you.
