Ever since I was a little girl, I always wanted to be the best version of myself. Whether it was helping others, performing, advocating, or pursuing my goals, I was determined to achieve greatness.

I developed a passion for medicine and followed that dream wholeheartedly. When I was 16 years old, I thought that dream might come to an end. As I prepared to leave high school and enter a new chapter of my life, some of the people I believed would support me turned their backs on me. In that moment, I did the only thing I knew how to do: I kept pushing forward. I believed in myself when no one else did, and I persevered.

At 3:30 PM today, my undergraduate journey comes to an end. But this is not the end of my story—it is the beginning of a new chapter.

There is not enough space in a single caption to describe the struggles I endured, the obstacles I faced, the moments when success seemed impossible, or the lessons I had to learn on my own. Yet there is also not enough space to capture the joy this journey has brought me: the friendships I’ve made, the mentors who guided me, the opportunities I’ve embraced, the awards I’ve earned, and the countless memories that will stay with me forever.

Today, I proudly graduate from John Jay College of Criminal Justice with a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology, a minor in Psychology, Latin Honors (Cum Laude), and the distinction of being a first-generation undergraduate researcher.

My story began with a dream, and that dream is one I am determined to make a reality.
This chapter may be ending, but my journey in medicine is only beginning.

May my path continue to lead me toward greatness. ✨ by @_.itsindyyyy
