To have a dream is to be willing to pay the price it takes to see it come true. Every athlete has a story, but I’ve learnt that what truly separates us is what we choose to do with the story we’re given. This season gave me a glimpse of what I’m capable of, while also reminding me that no amount of ambition can make you invincible. Two hip surgeries later, I’ve realized that sometimes the hardest thing to accept is that giving your all doesn’t always mean things will go the way you hoped. Some seasons test your ability, while others test your faith, and this one tested both. When the odds are against you and faith is the only thing you have left to hold onto, sometimes you realize that faith was all you needed in the first place. Romans 8:18, “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” If there’s anything this chapter has taught me, it’s that sometimes you have to stand still without standing down. A setback can change the timing without changing the destination. The dream is still the dream, and when the time comes, I’ll set those blocks again.
