Being a teacher was never just a career choice for me… it was something planted in me since I was a little girl.

I was always the talkative kid in class — the one asking questions, helping others, and probably talking a little too much. I even got the nickname “Talking Turtle,” or “TT” for short. Looking back now, I realize that voice was preparing me for the classroom all along.

Growing up with a young mom who didn’t get the chance to finish high school showed me how important education really is. Watching her push through life taught me strength, resilience, and the value of opportunity. Because of that, I never took education for granted. I worked hard, stayed focused, and pushed myself to succeed — and now I’m graduating college debt-free on a full academic scholarship.

This journey has always been bigger than me. Education changed my life, and now I’m ready to pour that same love, encouragement, and knowledge into the next generation.

Little me would be so proud of how far we’ve come. 🩷

Special shoutout to my 17 babies who allowed me to be my true, authentic self. You all are the ones I’ll miss the most — the ones who almost made me stay in Delaware.

I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to step into your classroom and teach, while learning so much from each and every one of you in return. Thank you for the laughs, the hugs, the growth, and the memories that I’ll carry with me forever.
