May 16th, 2012 — a little girl left Jamaica and stepped into a whole new world. A new country, a new culture, and a new life to figure out. The goal was always bigger than me: make my family proud and become something in life.

As a first-generation college student, the journey was never easy, but every challenge shaped me into the woman I am today. Today, as I walk across that stage, I do so knowing my family is proud of the person I’m becoming. This isn’t the end of my story, it’s only the beginning. 🇯🇲🎓

These past 2 years of nursing school have been the hardest and most rewarding journey of my life. There were sleepless nights, early morning clinicals, failed exams, anxiety, and moments where I truly questioned if I was meant for this path. The inner battles were real, but I kept pushing even when things felt impossible.

To my family, thank you for every sacrifice, every ride to clinical before sunrise, every encouraging word, and for listening to me rant after long hospital shifts. Your support carried me through more than you know.

Tomorrow, I walk across that stage not only for myself, but for everyone who believed in me when things got hard. This journey changed me forever, and I’m so proud of how far I’ve come.
