summa cum laude by @_.tyyyyyyy._

For a short while, I wondered why I didn’t have a kindergarten graduation photo. Then it hit me: I never had a kindergarten graduation. The little girl who finished her work early and got out of her seat to help others didn’t need a cap and gown, she needed an environment that met her where she was. She needed bigger. Four turned five in first grade. She set the tone for me. Youngest in the room, but our seat was always earned. Howard acceptance before adulthood. 4.0 on both diplomas. Yet again, she needed bigger. A four year mission turned into three, because God made achievement and expansion her birthright.

Each time I thought we were done, God said no. He said that His children shall inherit the Earth, and He presented that promise to me in the form of “bigger”.

As I studied Human Development at the Mecca, I experienced my own. Each opportunity, person, and place transformed me. Bigger networks, bigger memories, bigger impact. You reading this right now is proof of God’s promise to me.

Thank you for being part of my “bigger”. Thank you School of Education. Thank you Haitian Student Association. Thank you B.E.S.T. You Programming. Thank you Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Xi Chapter and Miss Krimson and Kream Royal Court. Thank you Alternative Spring Break. Thank you Early Learning Program and OUS. Thank you to every individual and organization I have had the pleasure of crossing paths with at Howard University.

Thank you Mom. Thank you God.

Love,
