I’ve learned that part of the process of truly healing sometimes may look like admitting you’re still hurt. For years I would rush to forgive or forget and just move on. Not realizing that I was just gonna be left with a bunch of unsolved trauma, hurt and trust issues in the future to deal with. Healing is not a pretty process but it is necessary to escape bondage. If you’re currently on your journey of healing and forgiveness be honest with yourself! If it still hurts say that, cry it out, sit in your secret place and give it to the Lord.. trust that he can handle it. Trust him to give you the strength to process your feelings and make your way to true healing and forgiveness.. then you’ll experience true peace and freedom from those heavy burdens!

Just a reminder today that NOTHING is too big for God. That thing you’re struggling with… that thing that has a stronghold over your life… that thing that just seems impossible to shake… give it to him! Trust that he’s not intimidated by your struggles. Impossible does not exist when it comes to God. There is nothing he can’t do! Trust him to help you with that thing that you have been battling with. He will strengthen you and deliver you… but you need to surrender and leave it at his feet! 🙏🏾

When the year started I was so anxious and nervous about approaching the next chapter in my life and hitting another milestone not not being where “I” wanted to be in life.. not realizing God had sooo much more in store. Let’s just say his way was definitely the scenic route lol but he knew exactly what he was doing ☺️🙌🏾🙏🏾 He got me amped now😬

It gets hard! Sometimes it’s hard to forgive… it’s hard to love… it’s hard not to keep score… it’s hard to pray for your enemies BUT many times it boils down to the person you want to be and the life you want to live. Your reaction to disappointment and tough times many times push you to make destiny decisions. The crazy part is the things that may be the hardest to let go of often grants you the most freedom when released. Do you want to be more like your father even though the road may be little more difficult and painful at the moment .. but you’ll experience more peace, joy and freedom long term? Or choose the later and be in bondage, bitter and experience “performative freedom”? I’ll encourage you…
Even when it’s hard still PRAY! Even when it’s hard still LOVE! Even when it’s hard still give GRACE! Even when hard still FORGIVE! Even when it’s hard to live still LIVE! All in all, when anything in life gets hard just CHOOSE JESUS!!

Once in a while I will catch myself asking God to take me out of a season or situation because I’m not only tired but fearful of reverting to the way I used to be. My prayers would change because my hope starts to diminish, my patience is wearing thin and I don’t feel like being kind.. and it’s not because I don’t want to but because I feel like my love is being taken for granted. Then the Lord shines a light on the pride that’s still lingering within me because just two weeks ago I prayed for him to search me and bring to light areas within me that is not of him. Dangerous prayers may bring heartbreak and so much discomfort but it also brings revelation. It shows you the things that help you step into humility and full surrender. Love is so major because you must love in order to be a reflection of Christ. To choose love especially when someone does you wrong or mishandles you doesn’t make you weak it makes you more like your father. To be totally transparent enduring especially when it comes to love has been very very hard for me because I refuse for people to ever think they’ll get away with playing in my face. But I also remember “As a man thinketh so is he.” So if I know who I am, I would know that another person’s behavior isn’t a reflection of who I am or my value so it shouldn’t change my character. Jesus character never changed no matter how he was treated or what people said about him. Although we are not Christ, he still lives within so it’s not far fetched to say we may not be perfect but we have the ability to love the same. With proper discernment, I continue to pray that I’ll be able to keep growing in love and endure through the seasons instead of running from them! And I pray the same for you 🙌🏾💚🙏🏾

We both look forward to Mother Daughter Day every year and it’s so special to us 😍 Even though we do so many things together throughout the year.. this event is always very intentional and heart felt. I just love surprising my Oatmeal pie because that big smile melts my heart every time 🥰🥰
Part of our special day/weekend lol was brunch @sveta.nyc and it was amazinggg! My baby was in awe! The service was great, the food was delicious and the decor was lovelyyy 🥰

On my toughest days I have learned to rest in gratitude. How we think and what we think about can change our mood/feelings in a negative or positive way. When you start worrying or stressing about something do you spiral and think about more things that could go wrong, worst case scenarios, all the ways in which your life doesn’t reflect what you always dreamed of, do you start feeling sorry for yourself or do you refocus on all the things you do have, the times you doubted and it went right, the love you have surrounding you…. Today I encourage you to take a moment and just Rest in Gratitude! Take a moment and just think about breathing, nature, family, love, food, friendships, home… focus on all the good you experience in those things.. focus on all the times God came through for you and that he will do it again! I call it “joy thoughts.” Just let your mind spiral on all his great works, blessings and love.. I always begin to smile when I do this because I feel true joy and comfort.. after you rest in that moment just say.. Thank you Jesus 🙌🏾😊🥰💚

Sometimes you hit a plateau and just don’t know how to move forward because nothing seems to work. Between work, kids, friends, family, relationships, community etc there aren’t enough hours in a day to truly focus on yourself. You pray everyday but you don’t feel peace. You “feel” like you’ve been knocking but no doors are being opened. You’re asking for clarity but you can’t hear God. What do you hear? Associates with the wrong advice, the ex that wants a 5th chance, reality shows, social media and all the other voices and distractions around you so LOUD. At that point you may just need silence! You may need to Retreat from all distractions.. Refocus and be intentional about seeking God.. Recharge mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually before attempting to pour into anyone else then RESTART! Whether that may be spending more time in your prayer closet, fasting, deactivating socials, cutting communication from certain people, going on a vacation… whatever that may look like for you.. just do it! Jesus did this often! Which can pretty much be seen as him giving us instructions for these times. If you do it right, you will be unstuck, you will have clarity and you will hear God! Trust and believe‼️

We like everything fast.. but Our Father is of structure, intent and process! His plan may require you to WAIT… but there are a bunch of gems being given to you during the wait. It will all be sufficient to the larger plans he has in store for you. Continue to walk in faith 🙏🏾

Sometimes I get so broken up thinking that I’m not getting what I want that I miss what God is doing in me and for me during that time. The nerve of me to even think that he was punishing me by making me wait or taking me the scenic route 😩 but with time, I gained wisdom and realized that it was protection. He’s our creator! He knows what’s too much for us, what we can’t handle. He probably knows that my mouth need some more filter 🤦🏾‍♀️before he let me pass goo and collect a milli 🤷🏾‍♀️ lol. A person that is not prepared would receive a blessing that ends up feeling like a burden! You thought that director position would make you happy because of the high pay and unlimited PTO but he knew it would take you from your kids, ministry and him. Then you would be unhappy and feel overwhelmed because it wasn’t the right time. Or you may not be a good steward with time as yet. I say all this to say.. and I’ll always say this… TRUST in the Lord with all your heart! He will never leave or forsake you! Trust that he has your best interest at heart! If he’s taking you through it then it’s for your good.. unless you moving on your OWN accord 👀

I love the daily office because not only has it made me become even more intentional about making time to sit and hear from God during the day but it has pushed me to answer hard questions. Sometimes it was painful having to think about certain situations and things I experienced in my life. This devotional specifically because I had to reflect on my biological father. I remember a time when only pain lived in those thoughts but I’m thankful for the healing process. I am more considerate, empathetic and understanding towards others because of the things I’ve went through. While growing spiritually and emotionally I can see how pain helped shape my character!
How has pain helped to shape your character? 💭 Reflect on that… and pay attention to your response and emotions during that reflection

I pray that you take the time to heal through all the trauma and pain you’ve experienced in your life 🙏🏾 He can use it all for good!
