it's not a story about perfect people.. it's about broken people being redeemed by Perfect Love πŸ’• Faith isn't exclusive to Christianity or any other religion. Faith is integral to the human experience. It's not a matter of IF you have faith, the question really is WHAT HAVE YOU PUT YOUR FAITH IN? It could be politics and culture. It could be amassing personal wealth and power. For many people, it's just ourselves and our own strength and ideas πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ the point I'm trying to make is, EVERYBODY puts their trust SOMEWHERE πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ (consciously or unconsciously) Our hope for love and abundant life is tied to a faith in SOMETHING or SOMEONE after years of seeking and searching, philosophy and spirituality, I found myself standing on the Soild Rock and foundation of new testament Christianity rooted in the Life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth πŸ™ŒπŸ»βœ¨πŸ•ŠοΈ My only goal and prayer for this project was to share my own personal testimony, and to encourage others to seek and search for themselves! I'm always open and interested in having healthy and respectful conversations, so plz please plz never hesitate to reach out and ask the hard stuff! God isn't scared of your questions or your doubts, infact, Jesus was constantly inviting both. God doesn't want to be cryptic or obscure, God wants to be found! Man woman boy or girl, red yellow black brown and white. Rich or poor. The entire world is invited into the household of God 🏠 and I think that's really remarkable. It's one of the only worldviews that really emphasizes that acceptance Again, I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions, and I really truly appreciate the interest and support you all have shown this project. #TESTIMONY RAW FILES DAY5 At this point, I had gone out 4 days and stacked almost 4 mins of keepable footage, which was absolutely mind blowing. I knew I wanted to keep the section short, as the main focus of this project was the actual interview. I had such a good time down in Detroit, I decided another exploratory day in an urban area would not only be good for the skating but also just good for the soul πŸ™πŸ» Headed down to Ann Arbor, with the goal of skating new spots. The first drop ledge was an absolute gem of a find and I couldn't have been happier! The crabwalk 360 crabwalk was super improvised but it's low-key one of my favorite clips! I tried for a second angle and just couldn't make it happen so I kept moving πŸ¦€ The hospital rail is a clip I've actually done once 2 years ago in preparation for "Testimony" (yes it's been this long in the making haha) so I figured it'd be worth redoing for the actual project, and as a tip of the hat to the original project idea. What an incredible way to wrap up the whole process Obligatory topsoul to cap off the filming THANK YOU THANK YOU to everybody who has followed, shared, commented, and supported me and this project. I was extremely happy with what I was able to put out, considering the tight timelines I put on myself. #TESTIMONY RAW FILES DAY4 pt2 (continued from previous post) Before I left the city, I stopped and got some food on Wayne State campus. Saw a spot right near where I parked and figured I'd set up the tripod funny story:Β  the second wallride clip in front of the big black windows.. turns out, those are single sided windows into an office and the folks inside must have gotten a pretty gnarly view of me flying up on em because they came outside and told me to leave 🀣 I can only imagine Bob or Susan sitting at their desk and here I come, 4 or 5 times in a row, inches away from their windows πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚Β  the double ledge spot is pretty popular around here but I've never actually skated it so, when I drove by I decided to park again and try something πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ the AO double makio was the initial idea and I was really really happy with it! Decided to try n see if the double fishbrain was possible 😀 and couldn't have been more stoked to lace it!! 😎πŸ₯³ Β Such an epic way to cap off the day Detroit blessed me way beyond what I hoped to get, and I'm so glad I was able to pepper in some iconic spots into the project. #TESTIMONY RAW FILES DAY4 pt1 Sometimes you need to just take an entire day off work, and go skate. This is something I've done for every project I've filmed for, and it's honestly something I will continue to do up to this point, all the spots were within a few miles of my house.. so I wanted to shake things up a bit. And There's something so satisfying about setting aside a whole day to explore and enjoy an city! πŸ™οΈΒ  I had spent a few days roaming around on Google Street view and found a couple of promising spots to check out, so I parked downtown, loaded up, n headed out.Β  This turned out to be such a memorable day, honestly.. because everything just seemed to fall into place. The spots were exactly what I had hoped. The tricks went easier than expected. The weather and atmosphere was perfect. #TESTIMONY Mental Health and Wellness for years, I've struggled with depression. Never bad enough to feel compelled to do therapy or prescriptions, but that just led down a path of self-medication 😞 Our country has an epidemic of mental health, and Im so thankful that we've finally come to place where it's open and accepted to talk about. I'm in a good headspace now, but I'd be lying if I said I had it all under control lol as I still deal with bouts of depression. Mingle in some anxious thoughts and compulsive tendencies, and you've got a recipe for disaster if I'm not diligent and intentional about my mental health Journaling helps. Contemplative practices help. But really, skating has been the single greatest outlet for me to channel all the chaos into a productive activity. It allows me to access a flow state 🧠 and gives me tangible goals to work towards IF YOU OR ANYBODY YOU KNOW STRUGGLES WITH MENTAL HEALTH, PLEASE GET THE HELP YOU DESERVE! #TESTIMONY Getting Sober sobriety was not only necessary, but I never could have imagined how much my life would improve once I got sober. Like a lot of us, drinking and partying started off innocent enough but it wasn't long before it got out of control. And sadly, in our society and culture, heavy drinking is not only tolerated but often celebrated as cool or interesting but in reality there's nothing more devastating to watch than a young adult throw their life away for the sake of being the life of the party I had nobody else to blame when I hit rock bottom 😞 Those early years were some of the most difficult times of my life, but I grew and persevered, partially thanks to SKATING and the outlet it provided for me πŸ’• IF YOU OR SOMEONE YOU KNOW IS STRUGGLING WITH ADDICTION TO DRUGS O ALCOHOL, PLZ PLZ PLZ HELP THEM AN ENCOURAGE THEM TO GET THE HELP THEY NEED!
