I can’t take it anymore

I feel so exhausted, at my wits’ end.

I’ve already talked about it with some people, but I want to share it here because I want to be transparent with everyone I’ll be working with this summer, and I don’t think I’m the only one.

I feel drained. I’ve stretched myself too thin, slowly and over a long period, telling myself that it would be fine and that I could handle it, but here I am.
The result is that being at the end of one’s rope is just that, no matter how you got there.

The feeling I have is that I’m wearing myself out in a system that gives very little back in return.
I got into live music and the contemporary music scene because it makes me feel the most alive. The contact with artists, unique venues, discovering new sounds, tours, festivals, following bands/artists in these adventures, and feeling these sound waves in my body have truly become what makes me feel alive in this job.

From this perspective of exhaustion, I feel like I’m spinning my wheels, continuing to accept jobs, evenings, and events that are culturally significant but so poorly supported.

We all know very well that it’s not for the money that we work in this field, it’s the passion and love we have for it that drives us.

However, seeing more and more often my colleagues exhausted where I work, I admit I’m having a hard time seeing anything other than therapeutic relentlessness at the moment.
And I don’t understand why we wouldn’t all just stop for a moment to raise our voices, really, so the message gets across.

As for what’s going to happen next. I will honor all the commitments I’ve made for this summer and beyond.
However, I won’t accept anything new or extra between today and the end of August (at least).

I’ll see how things go from there.

Aujourd'hui je sors un disque.

En vérité c'est mon premier disque de cette vie-là et je suis pas encore sûr de comprendre vraiment ce que ça veut dire.

Le fait qu'il soit uniquement sur l'internet pour l'instant a certainement un impact là-dedans. Je l'ai pas dans mes mains en vrai par contre les heures passés en duo à l'envisager, le réfléchir, le jouer, l'enregistrer, le mixer, l'écouter et le remixer sont bel et bien là.

J'ai un peu aussi la sensation de lancer un bout de mon âme et de qui je suis à qui le veut bien, comme une petite bouteille à la mer sur le vaste internet.
Ça me fait flipper et ça me stresse un peu. L'idée que quelqu'un d'autre que nous puisse se retrouver dans notre musique, nos émotions, nos angoisses, nos joies et d'une manière, avoir accès à tout cela.

Au final, ce que je sais, c'est que j'en suis fier, qu'on a travaillé dur et qu'on se retrouve dans notre musique.

Le week-end dernier, j'ai eu la grande opportunité de pouvoir participer à ma première expo en tant que créateur/musicien (@vacarme.noise) à l'occasion de l'exposition Decontruct to Last organisé par les magnifiques @fannydelarze et @phooosphene 🌱

Ce fut une incroyable expérience et un immense merci à toutes les personnes qui y sont passé 🤍🤍🤍
