Ok so this cat is at last out of the bag. After almost five years of bad communication, hostility and delays, Jay Glass Dubs - No 1 In England is now out on Bandcamp since the great Nina Protocol shut their works and this was not available elsewhere.

I started working on this music back in 2020 while I was stranded in Cyprus.

Composed and recorded amid the pandemic’s relentless grip, this opus intertwines the spectral echoes of my earlier methodologies, channeling them into an austere, harmonious expanse.

Dedicated to the late maestro, Vangelis Papathanassiou— my compatriot and source of profound inspiration—the title itself is a nod to a promotional sticker found on one of his records in my collection.

The presence of Vangelis' cinematic essence permeates the quartet of primary compositions, casting a resonant shadow throughout.

I had no equipment and no real reason to work but a very poignant stubbornness.

For the cover, I have had the pleasure to be graced with the artwork of legend @chrisbigg_design
an artist whose work has already been on my shelves for so many years.

Thank you Chris for your patience with this and for the awesome work you presented to me.

∷ Alondra Máynez & Concepción Huerta (Mexico)

◍ Alondra Máynez and Concepción Huerta bring together harp, magnetic tape and analogue electronics. Máynez, a harpist based in Mexico City, plays electric harp alongside synthesizers and voice, often drawing on the sounds of nature. Huerta, who divides her time between Mexico City and Amsterdam, works with field recordings, synthesis and tape manipulation, somewhere between drone, noise and musique concrète. Her latest solo album, “El Sol de los Muertos”, came out on Umor Rex in 2025, and she also plays in the improvising quartet Amor Muere. In the duo, Huerta builds the electronic structures and the harp moves through them, between melody, texture and resonance. They recently opened for Lucrecia Dalt at MUTEK Mexico and are preparing their first album together.

◍ Jay Glass Dubs is the project of Athens-based producer Dimitris Papadatos, active since 2015. His early cassettes were later collected on the double LP “Dubs”. His records for Bristol’s Bokeh Versions include a collaboration with Leslie Winer, and “Epitaph”, made with saxophonist Ben Vince and singer Yorgia Karidi. He strips dub down to its basic components (drums, bass, voice, effects) and rebuilds them on his own terms, a process that also raises questions of authorship and originality. At KET he presents material from a new album due in 2027.

EVEN is the self-titled debut of Jay Glass Dubs and Sissi Rada, two halves of an experimentalist coin.

@sissirada is a versatile harp virtuoso, composer, and electronic music artist based in Athens and Berlin. With a distinguished career as a harpist, she has collaborated with prestigious ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic, the Deutsche Oper, and MusicAeterna, and has performed as a soloist with the Athens State Orchestra, Sinfonietta Köln, and the Nordwestdeutsche Sinfonietta.

Dimitris Papadatos aka @jayglassdubs_ was born in the USA in 1981 and subsequently moved to Greece where he grew up. Though his work as a composer, musician and sound artist he has become one of the leaders in experimental dub electronics and a core member of the Bokeh Versions squad. taken in Labirinto Della Masone by @_______jgd__________

We are very excited to announce our next event in Paris - a special release party for our tenth release, this time in the basement of l’Olympic Café.

From liminal pop abstractions to trailing, cavernous, and sparse dub-wise sentiments, Sissi Rada and Jay Glass Dubs will present their debut live performance as “even”.

The night will open with the label DJs and close with a rare live performance by N-ergy (aka Nathan Melja) - a coalescence of euphoric ambient swells, 808s and trap samples.
