Five days until I leave for another holiday, and somehow the hardest part of travelling is never the flights, the packing, or the distance.

It’s leaving Henry. 🤎

There’s something so difficult about walking out the door knowing you won’t see the little face that follows you everywhere, won’t hear his little noises, or have him curled up beside you at the end of the day. I can be excited for what’s ahead, but a part of me always stays home with him.

Thankfully, I know he’s incredibly loved and well taken care of while I’m away. That makes leaving a little easier.

But nothing compares to coming home.

After weeks apart, he doesn’t care where I’ve been or what I’ve done. He just knows I’m back. The excitement, the wagging tail, the little face looking at me like I’ve been gone forever — suddenly the long flight and all those kilometres feel completely worth it.

I can travel the world and make memories in beautiful places, but there’s still one little soul who makes coming home my favourite part of every journey.

Five days until I leave again…
and already, I’m looking forward to coming home to him. 🤎🐾

Travelling gives me memories. Henry gives me home.
