Grateful for this crew. 🪲🪲🪲🪲
What started as a small team of four almost nine years ago has grown into something we’re incredibly proud of — a group of talented, thoughtful, and passionate people pushing each other to do better work every day. We’ve had the chance to take on projects that challenge us, shape our city, and reach beyond it in ways we couldn’t have imagined.
None of it happens without the people in this photo — the creativity, the silliness, the late nights, the problem-solving, and the shared belief in what we’re building together.

We love this city, we love what we do, and we’re excited for what’s next.

It takes a particular group of people to imagine what comes next for a house with this much history.

For The Whit's next chapter, Gretchen Trauth, hotelier and CEO of ERG Enterprises brought together a team of architects, interior designers, hospitality leaders, culinary talent and bar talent whose work reaches into nearly every corner of the experience.

Together, they’ve considered not only the spaces themselves, but what happens within them: the welcome at the door, the details in each room, what’s waiting at the bar, and the feeling a guest carries with them when they leave.

For their 50th anniversary exhibit, the Preservation Resource Center asked us to make ten scale models representing classic New Orleans house typologies. A few examples include the American Townhouse, the Double Shotgun House, and the Creole Cottage.

The houses were stripped down to their basic forms, without any ornament or stylistic detailing, to illustrate how to identify building styles by form: height and shape, arrangement of rooms, windows and door openings, chimney placement and foundation.

We modeled all ten typologies in 3D based on the PRC's plans, then 3D printed each building type in parts by floor level so that the models could be opened up to reveal the floor plan layouts, which help to identify each building style.

The models are now on display long-term at the PRC, along with information about the history, time frame and details of each typology.

Congrats to our favorite Preservationist, Allyson Hinz, on receiving the Sue Turner Preservationist of the Year Award!!

From the 2026 publication State of Preservation:
“While enrolled in Tulane University’s Masters in Historic Preservation program, Allyson volunteered with the non-profit, Restore Grand Isle, and worked with Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office staff to develop a comprehensive nomination of the historic Oleander Hotel to the National Register of Historic Places. In April 2025, the nomination was approved by the state review committee, and in July 2025, the Oleander Hotel was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places, making it eligible for historic tax credits and opening the door for future rehabilitation efforts and long-term preservation. After graduating, Allyson joined the New Orleans-based architecture firm, CICADA, where she plays a central role in developing an island-wide preservation plan for Grand Isle to support future research, resilience planning, and preservation advocacy” taken in CICADA by @____cicada

The Green House Inn project received the Historic Preservation/Restoration Honor Award at the 2026 AIA New Orleans Design Awards 💫

This project was a true labor of love - the restoration of a historic 1860s LGD residence into a nine-room bed and breakfast; examining lost architectural details through careful exploratory demolition and replicating those details using 3D printing technology.

The Perrier Residence, formerly the McGuire household, won the Single/Two-Family Residential Honor Award at the 2026 AIA New Orleans Design Awards.

Proud to announce that our N Rampart Guesthouse project was awarded the Historic Preservation/Restoration Award of Merit at the 2026 AIA New Orleans Design Awards!

CICADA worked closely with the HDLC to bring historic details back to this once-neglected former tattoo shop in Treme. The building was brought back to life as a single-unit boutique hotel.
