GOODNESS GRACIOUS✨🏁🔥

OTF 2024 hosted by @capestance has arrived and I thought I'd share my design inspo.

Stitch has quite a bit of rust that started popping out and we wanted to take part in OTF 2024. There was no way we wanted to present the car like that and we didn't have the budget to respray the car at the moment.

So after a few brainstorm sessions, and knowing the spots where most of the rust is, I thought why not do a retro race car livery. If you know me, I love all things vintage and so I geeked out on old school rally car and race car liveries, and came across Kamei (I already had the boot spoiler, yay!).

Kamei was created by the genius Karl Meier who started out with recycling and reupholstering car interiors and later moved into exterior auto parts, specifically aero-dynamic parts. In 1970, the VW Golf GTI became an iconic legend, sporting a Kamei body kit and Kamei livery.

I wanted to pay homage to Kamei by recreating the Legendary VW Golf GTI race car Kamei livery, into a minimalistic, modern yet still visually impactful design. I love the bold colours, the red, yellow and orange - so groovy, so 70s. And how lucky am I that my car is white, and that these colours seamlessly complemented my car's colour.

Ok let me wrap this up before I geek out and I need to go sleep😂 Hope to see y'all tomorrow and come say hi and see the Kamei Legend in-person🏁

A pinch me moment from 2025😭.

Itching to say "Mama, I made it!" but I'm not done yet - this is just the beginning.✨ And may this be your sign to never, ever give up - just go do that thing that scares you, believe in yourself and most importantly give it to God. I can't boast - this is all His doing!🙌🏽

Thank you to @elliottdukeroberts @pvw_mag for featuring my metal bestie & I in the July issue!

Thank you to my crew @capestance @tauriq_ajam for the insaaaaaane photos (will forever be one of my fave shoots!)

Thank you to my club overseas @kamei_squad
for all consistent support from afar!

And this is why I always say, that no car is built alone - it takes a community to make visions turn into reality!💖

Okkkk, goodnight ya'll🫶🏽.
