TONIGHT & TOMORROW: neworks with BOBI H. STOJAKOVIĆ & SERCE fka Marta Marja Ruszkowska

The starting point of this collaborative work by Bobi H. Stojaković und SERCE was the idea to engage with existing amateur dances from films. They have been inspired by Polish and Yugoslav films from the 50s, 60s and 70s, mostly films from new wave and post new-wave era, that have surreal and oniric quality and dealing with consequences of WW2, more specifically the intermission scenes of spontaneous dances, in a party, celebration or ceremony. Dance in them is creating a space that you can lose yourself in, both as a dancer and observer. What is interesting about this is the idea of a haunted dance or a dancing driving force that one can’t explain and is, unlike trance, not spiritual.

The motto for the “neworks” series in 2026 is CONTINUE WORKING. We want to give artists the opportunity to continue research processes they have already begun, develop them into full-length performances and present them at ada Studio. Bobi and Serce have worked at ada Studio in a residency before and shared their process during our open studio series called “reinkommen”. (ES) CARDO es un colectivo culinario coreografico establecido entre Madrid y Berlín. En su obra se caracterizan como anfitrionas de situaciones comestibles. Sus formatos van desde cenas en espacios privados, performance al aire libre, instalaciones e intervenciones. Sitúan su obra en la intersección entre la cocina y la danza, lugar desde el que exploran la fantasía y la cotidianidad de la alimentación como fenómeno social. Lejos de las cocinas profesionales, Serce y Alejandro se unen en equipo como amantes de lo trascendente en sus cocinas privadas.

(EN) CARDO is a culinary collective based in Madrid and Berlin. They host edible and non edible situations. Their formats range from dinners in private spaces to outdoor performances, installations, and interventions. They situate their work at the intersection of cooking and dance, a space from which they explore the fantasy and everyday reality of food as a social phenomenon. Far from professional kitchens, Serce and Alejandro come together as a team, united by their love for the transcendent, in their private kitchens.

Dears, the self organized residency at @uferstudios_tanz_berlin comes to an end. It was beautiful to share space and each interaction was enriching. From dance students to office staff, thank you.
