With my brother and my sisters….My people, My home. 🤍

Today felt extra special cuz a part of my childhood finally came back to me.

For seven long years, there was a part of me quietly waiting for my sister to come back from abroad, not just so I could see her again, but so I could become that happy girl again who had a sister beside her for all the nonsense, laughter, crying, fighting, teasing, slapping, complaining and making up five minutes later. 😂❤️

Now she is finally back 👭🏻

And beside us are the beautiful souls, Our Hezru @hezron_judah and Hansu cutie 🥰 people who make ordinary days feel like memories I’ll keep forever.

Sometimes, we just have to tell ourselves,
“Okay, I’m not completely okay today. But let’s get up. Let’s get ready. Let’s go somewhere. Let’s eat something I love. Let’s meet people. Let’s take pictures. Let’s give ourselves one normal, happy moment.”

I don’t remember exactly who took this photograph or where we were going. I only have a faint memory of that neighbourhood (Tara auntie’s house). Maybe she took it, or maybe someone there did. We were all dressed up, ready to go somewhere.

Amma always loved dressing up her two little girls beautifully. She would buy us dresses that looked almost the same, almost like twins. But Lechu was completely obsessed and in love with pink colour, so I can imagine how happy she must have been wearing this one. Otherwise, I’m sure Amma would have put us in the exact same color.

Looking at this photograph now, I think about how much life we have lived since then. How much we have grown through, together.

But no matter how old Lechu gets, no matter how far life takes her, in one corner of my heart she will always be this little girl beside me. 👭🏻❤️ by @___ammu.mahadevan___
