Where history meets the sea, sky & the soul of Oman. 🌊⛰️

High above the historic Muttrah district sits Muttrah Fort, one of Muscat’s most iconic landmarks. Built by the Portuguese in the 1580s and later rebuilt during the Al Ya’arubah era, the fort once served as a strategic stronghold protecting the harbour and the city. 🏰🇴🇲

Today, the climb takes you through historic walls, towers, pathways and viewpoints — and the reward is something completely different. ✨

From the top, you can take in the Muttrah Corniche, the old harbour, the sea, mountains, winding roads, ships and the beautiful Muscat skyline — especially magical around sunset. 🌅🌊

And honestly… the best part for me was seeing how the same place transforms from golden sunset to a completely different kind of magic after dark. 🌙✨

📍 Wadi Mibam, Tiwi, Oman 🇴🇲

One of those beautiful places in Oman that feels like a little hidden world inside the mountains. 🌿⛰️💦

📍 Location: Wadi Mibam, Tiwi, Al Sharqiyah, Oman
📏 Distance from Muscat: Approximately 160–170 km
🚗 Driving time: Around 2–2.5 hours, depending on traffic and stops.

From Muscat, take the road towards Sur via the Sharqiyah Highway and take the Tiwi / Wadi Tiwi exit. From Tiwi, you continue deep inside Wadi Tiwi towards Mibam village. The road takes you through narrow mountain roads, traditional villages, date-palm farms and beautiful mountain scenery. 🌴⛰️

Once you reach Mibam village, there is a parking area and a staircase route leading down towards the waterfall. The steps are well maintained and make the descent much easier. From the parking area, it is a relatively short walk down to the waterfall.

💦 About the waterfalls

Wadi Mibam has different waterfall and pool sections. There is a Small Falls section, which is the one I explored, and there are larger waterfall and pool sections further into the wadi.

I visited the Small Falls, taking the beautiful staircase down from the village. The combination of the rocky mountains, greenery, date palms, clear water and the sound of the waterfall makes this place incredibly peaceful. 🌿💧

If you are planning to visit, remember that this is a mountain wadi, so wear proper shoes with good grip, carry enough drinking water and be careful around wet and slippery rocks.

For the deeper sections beyond the waterfall, the route becomes more adventurous and may involve rocky terrain, ropes and swimming, so the difficulty depends on how far you choose to explore.

Tucked away along the beautiful coastline of Fins Beach, this little spot called Twin Cave is one of those places you don’t expect to find. 🪨🌊

Just when you think Fins is all about the beach, you discover these fascinating natural rock formations and hidden cave openings.

A quiet little adventure, beautiful coastal views, and one more hidden corner of Oman to explore. 🤍

Al Khaluf Cave, Oman 🪨🌊

One of those hidden gems in Oman that makes the long drive completely worth it. ✨
Located in Al Wusta Governorate, near the peaceful fishing village of Al Khaluf, this beautiful natural cave opens up to a breathtaking view of the sea and the beach. 🌊🤍
Around 430 km from Muscat, the journey takes roughly 5–5½ hours by road — but once you reach here, you’ll understand why the journey is worth it.

Inside the cave, it felt so peaceful that we honestly didn’t feel like leaving.
And when we climbed up and stepped outside… the view was even more breathtaking — mountains, endless sea and the beautiful Oman sky. 🏔️🌊✨

And then, of course…
a cup of coffee with this view. ☕️🤍
