Magically reorganize my bookshelves with me so I can have room to grow 🖤🎃👻🍂🐈‍⬛

Had fun making this short little reel! I really needed to revamp (pun was not intended at first, but it is now🩸🧛🏻‍♀️) my shelves because I was running out of space. I’m honestly not absolutely in love with how the second set of shelves turned out, but maybe that’s just because of the empty space waiting to be filled, lol.

I have been trying to enjoy and romanticize my fall the past month and I haven’t been in the mood to be on social media very much. But I also find it so hard to keep up with posting, reading, and everything else I do that posting ends up being put off and put off until next thing I know it’s been another month, but I genuinely love just chatting about books so I will continue to post when I can and when I’m up to it 🖤

Oops I went MIA again 🤭
For good reason this time. I got married, very last minute! ✨My husband✨ and I have been together for 11 and a half years and we decided to get married on our half anniversary (a week ago). So I’ve been very busy the last few of weeks 😅

Our real life bookish trope is friends to lovers! We were friends for a couple of years in high school before we started dating almost a year after we graduated 🤍💍💒

Autumn Possibilities 🍂🪾🍄‍🟫

It’d be bold of me to set a TBR whilst being in a reading slump, so instead here are some books I want to try to get to this season 🤎

I really want to focus on reading more physical books, I’ve mostly been listening to audiobooks (by mostly I mean my count for the year is 101 and only 7 have NOT been audiobooks 🫣), but the past month I have been reading my comfort books physically and it’s reminded me how much I miss it. And it’s also the coziest way to read, perfect for fall 🧶🍁

Drop recommendations though, because while I am focusing on physical books, I will still be listening to audiobooks and I also have KU/Libby 🤪

Reading/small life update I guess? 📚✨🖤

I have been in a slump. Reading, creative, mental. At first the slump was kind of stressing me out, but I decided to embrace it. April-June I read so many books, rewatched some fave anime and shows, and I felt like I wasn’t just letting myself rest mentally. So ever since my bday I have been taking things slow and going with the flow. I’m back now though! 😁

Th Rivaled Kingdom 🩷
I have been working on this book since March. It’s not bad, it’s just me. But I am almost done with it, finally.

The Bird and the Sword 🦅
This book started off kind of slow, but I ended up really loving it and I can’t wait to get to book 2. It was so different than the average romantasy.

Throne of the Fallen 💜
I love this world so much! I read the Kingdom of the Wicked series this year and loved it a lot. Jumping back into the world but from POVs of different characters was so fun.

Our Infinite Fates ♾️
Listen, if you like Divine Rivals I can almost guarantee you will like this book. It’s not the same, but I feel like the vibes and writing style are similar. It had me in a chokehold and is definitely a new beloved book!

Behooved 🎠
I loved this book. It was hilarious and such a fun time! Think of a swan lake retelling except the MMC turns into a horse.

The Last One 🦋
This book was okay. It wasn’t the worst, I will probably… eventually, read book 2. The insta-lust/love in this book was crazy. I usually can ignore it or don’t even mind it sometimes, but it was very cringey (sometimes funny too).

The Pumpkin Spice Cafe ☕️
What? A non-fantasy book? Yes. And I loved it enough that I read all the books in the series. Lol. They were all such quick, fun, simple-minded books. And exactly what I needed to feel a little less slumpish.

I reread ACOMAF and I will be finishing up a reread of TCP (comfort reads) today. I’m going to mostly be working on rereads over the next couple weeks and just taking things slow. My son started first grade a week ago and we’re getting into the groove of things. I got a Nintendo Switch for my bday and I have been playing ACNH everyday 🫣😅

✨📚 2025 Mid Year Check In 📚✨

I have been so lucky this year I have read soooo many amazing books. I was going to do a top 5 then I couldn’t choose only 5 and so I thought maybe a top 10? Lol, I ultimately decided to pick enough faves to go with the song 😂 I’ve only (soft) DNF’d 2 books and there was only one 1-star book! I call that a win 🤷🏻‍♀️ My goal for the year was 60 books, well in May I hit that goal so I changed it to 80. I have surpassed that goal as well now. Is it worth it to set a new goal or should U just go with the flow from here on? 😅

This is my new favorite book cover. It’s sooo beautiful 🩶🦋
I loved this book so much. It was so whimsical, in a dark and atmospheric way. The premise of this book was amazing and so unique, I’ve personally never read anything like it. And that plot twist at the end, well tbh I suspected it but only slightly. It still made me gasp 😂 I cannot wait for the next book!!!
Also, not to be dramatic but I would do absolutely anything for the gargoyle 🥹🖤

📚How do you choose your next read?
I just go with the flow for physical/ebooks. For audiobooks on Libby it’s whatever hold is available first 😂

📚Buy or Borrow?
Both? I have KU and Libby but I am always buying books too 😬

📚Physical, audio, or ebook?
All of them! Physical books are my fave. However after getting into audiobooks last year it’s been a game changer and I listen to every book I can (busy mom life, it’s just so convenient) 😁

📚One at a time or always juggling?
Usually it’s one at a time, if I am reading more than one at a time there is usually one that I am hyper focused on and the other(s) will take months to finish 😅

📚DNF or push through?
I am very easy to please, not super critical. I’m here for a fun time and that’s it. If I DNF it’s either not the time for me to read that book or it’s super bad, but I will usually push through if I can 😭

📚Classic or not?
Is Dracula a classic? I’m slowly getting through that one right now. I haven’t read classics since high school, I have a few on my list though 😌

📚Dog-ear or bookmark?
When I was young I was dog-ear all the way, as an adult I am definitely bookmark! 😝

Photo dump of my week ✨📖🩵

I read Fearless in one sitting while doing a puzzle. I didn’t love the first two books, but I really enjoyed the last one (also, Powerful is the best of them) 🏹 I got a couple new books and because of that I had to rearrange my shelves. I took off all my non-fantasy books and put them elsewhere and got to decorate a new shelf of fantasy and I love it 📚 I listened to Glow of the Everflame. When I tell you that book was TOP TIER. I can’t wait to get to book 3, and I think it’s going to be one of my new fave series! 👑 I redecorated my kindle for summer and I’m obsessed 💚 I read the Daughter of the Pirate King series, in two days, and absolutely adored them 🏴‍☠️ I made a goodreads and fable account, so add me I guess? I’m not tech savvy and don’t how to do anything yet 😅

My favorite duologies 📚
Do you prefer stand alones, duologies, trilogies, or long series? I used to say trilogies were my fave (possibly because The Cruel Prince is one of my faves 😅). But the more I read, the more I prefer a good duology. These are some of my faves! I read Dance of Thieves a few years ago and fell in love with it. I have read all the others within the last six months and they were sooo good that they have really surpassed a lot of my old favorite books. Please go read them if you haven’t already. Lol.
