Il basement si anima per ospitare 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲, opera olfattiva e musicale dell’artista e compositore 𝗥𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗰𝗼: un’architettura multisensoriale realizzata in collaborazione con l’esperto di profumi 𝗡𝗶𝗸𝗹𝗮𝘂𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 e il liutaio 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝘇𝗶𝗼, che firma l’impianto sonoro della presentazione.

𝗕𝗿𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 è un diario di attraversamento, un viaggio tra paesaggi reali, simulati e immaginari lungo le geografie del Mediterraneo. Un lavoro composto negli ultimi quattro anni in cui Renato ha raccolto e seminato tracce del suo passaggio: isole, formazioni costiere, incursioni nell’entroterra, trasmissioni radio temporanee, azioni notturne, improvvisazioni musicali e performative, lunghe chiacchierate nei bar dei porticcioli e irruzioni nelle bande musicali locali.

Quegli appunti sonori, rielaborati e ricomposti in studio, diventano qui una nuova opera musicale. Un’installazione multisensoriale in cui spazio e odore si intrecciano in un’esperienza sospesa tra dimensione ambientale e immersione sonora.

Un progetto realizzato nell’ambito del programma 𝗣𝗲𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗶 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮, con il sostegno del 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮 (@mic_italia) e di 𝗦𝗜𝗔𝗘 (@siae_official). Dopo la première napoletana, Brucialacrime viaggerà verso Palermo, presso 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗼 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗼𝗺𝗮, in una nuova iterazione a cura di 𝗚𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗼 𝗠𝗲𝗴𝗮.

‘Danze’ is out today!

The first solo viola EP by Renato Grieco (fka kNN) and the musical core of Continua, his site-specific installation for Una Boccata d’Arte 2026 in Lugo di Vicenza.

Recorded in a church in Contrada Mare and performed entirely on viola da gamba, stripped of its Renaissance and Baroque origins, Danze brings the area’s pastoral heritage into a contemporary frame, between folk memory and structural minimalism.

The village square has no bell tower. The whole EP is built around a single drone tuned to the bell cast for the installation: through the church’s reverb and untempered fluctuations, the viola conjures a phantom bell tower.

Announcing a very special one today. Renato Grieco’s ‘Danze’ will be out October 2nd.

An enthralling piece for solo viola da gamba, recorded in a little church in Veneto. Rigorous and relentlessly physical, it’s an initiation into new pastoral sentiments, punctuated by celestial harmonies.

The first single ‘Giga’ is out now on every platform.

We’re very happy to welcome Hanne Lippard & Renato Grieco to Shelter Press with 'Today’s Special' (SP172).

A collection of songs and language works built around the meeting of Hanne’s voice and Renato’s viola da gamba, piano and Wurlitzer, the record brings together two distinct practices through a shared language of structure, melody and reduction.

Today’s Special is a record we’ve been spending a lot of time with - one that really resonates with the intersections where the label operates - and we hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do.

At Prada Frames curated by @formafantasma I was invited by @threesproductions to present a new performative project.

As the symposium In Sight explored the complexities of contemporary visual culture, these compositions for solo violin, harp, and flute sought a different kind of clarity—one found in the physical and the tactile.

Reimagining fantasias, bagatelles, and proto-dances as raw, essential forms, the pieces aim to become an intimate dialogue between the performers, their gestures, and the historic architecture of the Sacristia del Bramante.

Premiering at Assembly: @HanneLippard and Renato Grieco (@___knn___) present a new performance exploring voice, language, and music. Created during a three-month residency at Somerset House Studios with @goetheinstitut_london, the piece experiments with layered voices and tones, mixing speech and music to blur the line between the two.

The work takes the form of overlapping dialogues and monologues, with live musical elements played on the viola da gamba, a Renaissance-era string instrument. This Assembly premiere will be further developed for @CTMFestival Berlin in 2027.

🐚 thrilled to present “Un ordine delle cose”, our second issue: a work by the composer Renato Grieco, inspired by Jacques Brosse’s meditative catalogue of animals, minerals, fossils, and elemental forms. Rather than illustrating the book, the piece crosses it obliquely, reshaping its images through voice, resonance, and metamorphic drift.

At the center of the release stands a sculptural tuning fork designed by Alfatih and hand-forged by Ettore Palombi: an antiqued-bronze object hovering between relic and instrument, photographed here by Manuela Naddeo. A physical counterpoint to the disembodied sonic work, it appears as an osteological shard, a fragment of an imagined organism holding a silent vibration.

In Francesco Cavaliere’s words:

“Renato Grieco, with his typical rasp as if his voice were coming out from the mouth of a cave, lets into his cavities the things that Jacques Brosse catalogues in his mythical book. Yet the moment they cross the threshold of his mouth they transform!
They echo, throwing themselves back into his deepest inside puffing.
If it is a jellyfish, this becomes an excavated fossil — very deep.
If it is a stone, imagine how far down this can fall.
And so, in the darkness of the uvula, the things Brosse describes get lost in Grieco’s grotto; they are no longer found. One only listens to them.”
