WHAT ARE EMOTIONS TO A BRICK?
.
.
Pacing up and down,
Heartbeats pressed against the wall's cold -
If hugging a wall was ever possible
It must be known;

Is there any more love to be given
For flattened out pages of prisons...
Buttocks on the floor,
A foetus silhouette form to match,
To cradle oneself and wallow
In floor corners, that create intangible chairs in every shape of despair,
At junctures seating more sorrow;
The ceiling is all but more distant
Although it was done just so -
Forms could lower to feel more
In shape with the crushing weight;
And the floor may join
With the wall, its overall form and height -
A pillared vessel, without any soul;

The phone ringing is an unexpected welcome,
The doorbell of uninvited guests who hasten to assault -
The foot of every call hovers above the doormat,
Right outside the front door but already halfway inside.

The windows have views but no hope
Just a bridge of visual could bes (but won't),
It's mostly static screens
And curtains tying knots in my stomach;
The doors may open, but don't anywhere go
The room is the body, but without space for anything more.

Comfy night clothes all day, good food, 7-8 hrs of sleep, just nature all around and not having to meet people.

This place looks like a cute little dollhouse, throw in a couple of plushies and it could be the perfect location for the next Melanie Martinez song.
