So you know how we always say, small festival with the production of one 5 times the size… turns out we weren’t lying. This year we went for round 2 with our dream team @auratekh on pixels and lasers, @___ordep on lights and @sound_services Curt and Eli moving the air around us. The resounding feedback so far has been ‘it sounds and looks so good’ <3 We set out to make a number of new features and looks to draw the eye away from the dj and create asymmetry and tension on the dance floor. When the laser knit everything together on @studiotip_ sculpture everything started to twist and we were in heaven. Sound services conducted some mad science and made some real groundbreaking work in the 4 point audio field. You have to see it to believe it. When lots of people who are so passionate and expert in their own areas come together for the right reasons, something magical can be created. So here’s to just the beginning of this beautiful collaboration. More smoke, more lasers, more Function-One’s Tony Andrews popping down to see the speaker set up moments. Tonight we will celebrate our third anniversary: let’s connect, enjoy and share our biggest passion, music.. It’s a residents showcase and we’ll have continuous music throughout the night for a better flow and for a deeper musical experience. Some info ahead of today’s event: •Join us from 22:00 till 06:00 at FOLD, steam room. •Make sure you queue and enter from the Steam Room gate, located on Bidder street, E16 4SA. Ask the staff if unsure. •FOLD operates is a +21 event. A valid physical ID is required, no digital copies or photos of IDs will be accepted. •Strictly NO PHOTO / NO VIDEOS policy. Reduce the use of phones on the dance floor and chat outside if possible. •Card or cash payment available. If you hold an ‘entry before 11pm’ ticket but arrive late, you will be ask to pay the difference. •Last entry is at 4am, 2 hours before the end. Do not show up after these hours as it will not be possible for you or your friends to join the party. •Respect the space, staff, artists, and each other, we have zero tolerance for harassment or discrimination. •If you feel unsafe or unwell at any time please reach us for support. •Help us keep the dancefloor a safe space, inclusive, and community driven. • @fold.ldn is an artist-led, community-focused night club and art space, with a predominantly queer community. The next resident returning behind the decks at FOLD is @___ordep . With multiple appearances at UNFOLD and @corsica.studios (RIP), the Polyritmica co-founder cemented his position in the scene by delivering memorable sets, approved by London’s most reputable and demanding dancefloors. Both in the studio and behind the decks, his output is unapologetically bold. Inspired by London’s cosmopolitan essence and his own multicultural background, he effortlessly weaves through a broad pallette of sounds ranging from purist 90s and 00s Techno to Dubstep, Electro and minimal House. ORDEP doesn’t believe in perfection. Each extended blend and additional layer is a calculated exercise in risk taking and an invitation to take a step away from your comfort zone. Mentally still here... I've probably spent a couple of thousand hours in this building, you'd think the magic eventually wears off. Experiencing UNFOLD at full tilt from the middle was exactly that, magic. I hope you all felt the same about it. From catching the last few tracks of fellow @polyritmica stalwart @desiree_____________, to uncle @mosaiartist handing over the room on a silver platter and very kindly letting me use his reverb pedal, and finally fulfilling the dream of sharing a lineup with @kangding_ray ... That's what I call a perfect storm. Thank you so much to everyone that was there and made it special ❤️ Shout out to @voicedrone for the nod, @dominicrdbarden for spamming the strobes, @karolina_magm2 for always taking good care of me, and all of the @fold.ldn crew for making it a family affair.
