Had an absolute blast playing the New Year’s Eve Funk Night last Wednesday. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to start the year! Huge thanks to @calo_gianluca_bass for inviting me. 🫶 Big love to the killer musicians I had the pleasure of playing with, and to everyone who came and spent the night with us. Wishing you all a happy new year! ❤️✨🎸 taken in Jazzcafé Dizzy by @___s_e_b_a___

Story Time 🕰️ - Last time I was home I sat down with my now 87 year old Granny Grace and had an honest discussion on how she’s doing these days and how the aches and pains of getting older can want to stop you in your tracks. Through all the talk of the trials of an aging body she said, “Some days I’m not fit for getting out of bed - but then I put me feet on the floor and I’m okay!” And we laughed a lot at her turning what could’ve been a tale of woe and misery into a funny moment. She has that a lot, this ability to bring laughter and joy out of tough situations. She’s lived and is living like that. This song that I’ve written with a lifelong friend @niall_dev is an ode to her perseverance, to her mental fortitude and to her superpower of being able to come through adversity with a smiling face. Albeit this is a small snippet of the song performed yesterday at @labgrounds with @___s_e_b_a___ but I will record it one day in its entirety. To Granny Grace, a beacon of light for all within the cast of her warmth. This one is entitled ‘Loving Glow’ taken in Rotterdam, Netherlands by @___s_e_b_a___
