Next week we've got Jamie Paton heading up from Bristol to DJ at Golden Lion alongside Ana k Miller and myself to celebrate the release of his heavy duty 10" on Space Ritual. This will be his first time up in the valley and we're buzzing to have him through to play. Prolific producer, remixer, and DJ with his own distinctive sound that weaves between techno, dub, acid, bass, cosmic, wave, downtempo, electro, new beat, and beyond. Join us for a night of tripped out off kilter dancefloor business on Saturday 5th of September.

Two stripped back downtempo jams from Bristol based producer Jamie Paton up next for SR008. Jamie’s distinctive dubbed out productions have been a firm favourite over the years since discovering his music on [Emotional] Especial, Hoga Nord, Multi Culti and Club Blanco. He’s a prolific remixer who’s worked with Goat, Plus Instruments, Minami Deutsch, Dâdalus & Bikarus, Blancmange, Johnny Aux, Khidja, Gatos Negros, Food Pyramind, and many more. This release is a perfect fit for Space Ritual and delves into the darker side of his sound.

Off World is a slow n low spooked out dancefloor trip that meanders through layers of dark, eerie, rattling percussive echos and deep creeping bass. Contrasting atmospheres build throughout entering into a spacious call and response interplay. Fell Swoop's heavyweight bass and haunted sonics take you deep into uncanny space. The raw and swampy groove powers through sharp and ominous textures that circle around it.

Pressed to 10” with hand printed artwork on a black reverse board sleeve. Limited to 150 copies.

Excited to host my second guest later today (4-6pm) on Scattered Wits on @noodsradio . @___slacky is behind the Space Ritual label, and Leeds’ @narr.radio and regularly spins at @goldenlion_todmorden , @outlawsyachtclub etc. I’ve been really enjoying Slackys mixes (go check them) and thought he’d be a perfect guest on the show.

Part 1 - First 45 mins is a snippet of a live recording from when I played Little Portland Street in London earlier this year. It’s the opening 45 mins, so slug pace to start 🐌

Part 2 - Slacky has has recorded a 70 minute trip for part two of the show, mix of dub, downtempo, industrial and weird wormy techno. Music from @blackmerlin , C P.I, Full Circle, @jamie_paton_music , @o.yuki.conjugate , @therootsmanofficial and more.

I’m in Greece, so prerecord this time. But send some signal in the chat if you’re locked 🫡 Link for live broadcast and recording in bio 🔗 by @___slacky

8th episode of the HD Series and we're thrilled to welcome one of our favourite DJs from the North of England: @___slacky

Based in the mystical town of Todmorden, Slacky’s music perfectly mirrors the unique atmosphere of that peculiar place which managed to find a very special place within the UK’s elctronic musical landscape.

A strong taste for psychedlic and weirdness that won’t surprise anyone lucky enough to experienced of his sets at the Golden Lion, Club Cosmos (Leeds), or elsewhere around Manchester, and which we’re delighted to find throughout the little over an hour of this podcast.

Additionaly to his DJ sets, Slacky also promotes his vision of music through his subtly curated web radio @narr.radio , as well as his eclectic label Space Rituals, home to synthwave, krautrock, music and any other leftfield subgenre of club music, and beyond 🍄
