Grey Ghost.

Our 2024 Wyoming trip did not disappoint. This was by far the most fun trip I have had over the past 12 years. We’ve harvested some great animals, but this trip holds a special place in my being. Good hunts, good family, good meat, and a good God.

Want to thank my wife for how much she helped on this hunt. Love you honey! Jared, I’ll double up on Mule deer with ya any day of the week. taken in Somewhere In The Woods by @___tybailey

Off the limb.

I have always dreamed of roosting a bird in the afternoon and getting right under him the next morning. And buddy was this hunt beyond that dream.

Had birds fly up within 40 yards of me the afternoon before but nothing gobbled. Had a feeling one of them was an Ol’ Tom just by the sound of his wings. Picked out a set of trees to sneak into for the next morning. Got to those trees before 5a that morning and sat down. Within 15 minutes of being there I could hear him spitting and drumming in a tree about 60 yards through the thinned pines. After an hour of listening to the deep, long bass notes of drumming and several bark peeling gobbles, my dream came to an end.

With one hard wing beat, followed by about 10 smaller ones, that Tall Timber Gabriel landed in an opening only God could have made, he and I had made connection. Thank you for the three weeks of chasing you and the multiple shows you put on for me.

My main man Cache.

Seeing a good dog work is one of the finer moments of the duck woods. Seeing you work has taught me how to be more patient and to be more grateful with what is put in front of me. You are gonna be a fine dog and you make me a better man.

Water lines and cypress knees.

2023 has been marked by low water thus far. Hoping for a big river in the next few days and push of new ducks. It’s been a year of grit and grind.

Third times the charm.

I have chased this buck for three years now. Several encounters and several frustrating moments with this old buck. I am humbled to punch my tag and wrap it around him. Thank you for making me a better woodsman and thank you for the chase.
