*THIS VIDEO CLIP SHOWS OTHER RELEASES BY THE SAME NAMED ARTIST.

From 1991 until 1998 I moved through various projects that echoed the breadths and depths of that very electronic decade. Commercially it was an indifferent decade of girl/boy bands and "Well, We've always been a bit dancy" bandwagon jumping, especially when compared to the incredible developmental progression of styles of the 1980s, from hip hop to electro, Jack Trax to Acid House. But during the 90s mature music went underground and deeply electronic. It was a classy decade on the margins and outside the box. You know the rest - Aphex to Aqua, Underground Resistance to underground parties across any large city. The Chekists is a project of which I made up some 50%, mainly involved in its rhythmic elements. The peak of this project is typified through the reach of the track "Global", being plucked for use on the first of a whole series of compilations called "Dream Injection". Alongside many heroes such as FSOL, Aphex, Underworld, Clock DVA, μ ziq, Autechre, Kenny Larkin, Speedy J, and Richie Hawtin, sat our track, recorded in my tiny one room apartment. We frequently played live and were seen by Depeche Modes Andy Fletcher, who we were told described us as, "Shit", which we genuinely found funny. What a vibe. What rarified air. I mean, the track on the listed album itself is barely "...aiiiight". But the company we're in on this double CD is definitively peak 🩷
