“At @mamakashakaandfriends #SunsetSolos, we witnessed @keenanmeyerpiano sit before the very piano that carried his albums into the world and call something ancient back into the room. Something tender, in some parts wounded and others grotesque and ablaze.
It did not feel like performance. It felt like dusk, weaponising the bodies learned hardness into newborn softness. Like watching a man return to the first language his spirit ever trusted. Every note moved through the space like the last light crossing water, searching for somewhere holy enough to rest. And I couldn’t help but be beautifully bewildered and think perhaps that is what sunsets are, proof that even endings know how to burn beautifully before disappearing. Proof that light cannot die, it transforms each time.
At one point, Keenan reminded us that the fight ahead is not one of weapons but of spirit. And beneath the slow collapse of the evening sky, with darkness arriving gently at our shoulders, it became clear that music too is a form of spiritual warfare. A way of keeping the soul awake. By the time the sun fully surrendered itself to night, none of us were quite the same.”

The meditations of @tevinxist give us literary wings to these visual translations photographed by $$$.
