The narrative of community, sisterhood, and advocacy is shifting.

2026: REFRAMING LIBERATION
This is the season of side quests.
And this side quest sees me building my physical music collection by collecting cd’s, vinyls, and cassette tapes.
‘Boomerang’ is my in my top 2 90s Black rom-coms (‘Hav Plenty’ is my other one). Robin Given’s “Jacqueline” literally was my everything and shaped what Black Women and Femme sexuality, power, and seduction. And the soundtrack…. I absolutely had to get it; the cassette tape at that!
(The cd and vinyl are definitely following)

2026: Reframing Liberation
I didn’t get many pictures during @thenormalanomaly ‘Black Like That Community Festival’ this year, but the mirror selfies I got to capture with me and @thedominiquemorgan were my faves.
We have pics together, and have been at several panels, conferences, events together. But ‘Black Like That’ was special.
People and community traveled from all over to see Dominique, and to experience all of the love my sis got and received, and witness her loving community back; I was glad to capture this behind-the-scenes moment (that was an aside from Dominique being thee MOMENT!)

Thank you so much to @tripleaalliance for hosting the screening of the @sarahemcbride documentary “State of Firsts” at @theriveroakstheatre (it was my first time there!)
Afterwards, Dylan and I got to have a very real, raw, and brave conversation about the reality of being Trans doing community and political advocacy work, the very real dangers and harm that come with running for office, and how to create pathways forward.
